Des and 5 other Bachelorettes who welcomed babies last year were featured in People magazine. I'll bring over her part.

Prior to welcoming her now 6-month-old son Asher on Oct. 19, 2016, Siegfried (née Hartsock), 30, admits that she “had never even held a newborn!”

Quickly, though, the new mom and her husband Chris — whom she met, fell in love with and got engaged to on the series in 2013 — adapted to parenthood. “Our lives have changed — and our priorities have changed — in the best way possible. Just seeing my son’s face makes me happier than anything,” says the Seattle-based wedding blogger and bridal stylist, who admits to having fallen “more in love” with her husband since having their son.

“He has been so great, really taking care of me so that I could take care of Asher,” says Siegfried. “Parenthood is a test for couples, if you can be strong for each other.”

Look at Asher's little hoodie! So sweet. I love the comment that she fell more in love with Chris. It's a new chapter between a couple, a new kind of love.

Des did a podcast for a friend's site and talked a bit about life before, during, and after the Bach/ette. I'm going to post some of the main parts. I haven't heard her discuss some of this stuff before so I found it interesting. You can look it up under the podcast title 'Goal Diggers' with Jenna Kutcher.

- she applied to Sean's season after ending a failed relationship
- she wanted a change of scenery. Thought it sounded fun.
- she had only seen the show here and there when her roommate watched.
- her only concern was money. She was broke and barely making it
- she applied and got a call from casting the very next day
- while she was away she worried a lot about her rent back home. The show paid it for her so she could stay filming.
- when they asked her to be the Bette she thought it was a joke. She was more of a behind the scenes kinda gal, not front centre.
- her type has always been super difficult, unavailable, etc. She thought love meant fighting and fixing the relationship
- she thought guys like Chris were too good to be true.
- after her finale the SM negativity affected her but Chris helped her tune it out. She said he handled that like a pro, he's good at that
- she remembers filming  on her birthday and being overwhelmed with the drama, she wondered what she got herself into
- she said the physical exhaustion and never sleeping a full night made filming much harder
- she had a lot to Tell Chris before the finale but wasn't allowed to tell him anything until the proposal day.
- there was a huge storm on the day thrthe proposal was supposed to happen. They were both dressed and ready but it was postponed to next day
- she had to sleep on everything she wanted to say and was frustrated. She was ready to be alone without crew or cameras. She was done.
- she moved to Seattle the weekend after her finale. They packed up a van and moved her stuff down. She had never been to Seattle before!
- initially she planned to move after a few months but after her whirlwind finale she said she was 'just done'
- gets asked a lot why they beat the odds. She thinks it's because they didn't pursue more spotlight and got right back to their lives pre show.
- she wouldn't change anything about their wedding. She said they weren't perfectionists and focused more on having fun
- Chris goes to work and she stays home with Asher and works part time on her blog and on a collection of wedding dresses she hopes to complete by end of this year
- one thing she wishes she knew before having Asher is more about breastfeeding and body changes that come with pregnancy and child birth
- she says having Asher makes her live more in the moment. She is used to being a workaholic with a to do list going at all times
- as for future plans, they have none. Looking forward to seeing Asher grow and spending time as a family
- she loves watching the show and rooting for couples. She hopes Rachel finds love and will def be watching.

Thanks for the summary @bleuberry! It was pretty clear her type was the unavailable guy, since she was so smitten with Brooks despite his obvious hesitation. I am so glad the light bulb went off in her head before the end and she had the courage to give true love a chance. Every young woman should watch her season and learn. Chris is the kind of guy we should all be attracted to really IMO.
