It’s going to be an ‘Enchanted’ Bachelor season

When I heard that a major ratings grabber would be setting up shop in northern New Mexico to air on one of the big three television networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), I thought we may on the verge of learning the new home for the beloved NM series, Longmire.

But a resolution to that dramatic saga has yet to unfold. In the meantime, filming is just now getting underway for another type of drama, The Bachelor 2015.

You may recall a bit of a hullabaloo going on in our capital city recently as governing councilors debated the issue of offering incentives to the ABC hit. In the end the city council voted 5-4 in favor of offering a tax break to the tune of $50,000 in production costs, with the New Mexico Tourism department kicking in another $50,000 out of their $16,607,3230 reserve budget.

Though many feathers may be ruffled, OneHeadlightInk can exclusively report that part of the latest installment of the mega hit series is now expected in Santa Fe this October.

Set to premiere January 5, 2015, the highly anticipated return of the franchise is expected to rake in record views.

So, what do y’all think? Will it be white water rafting, hot-tubbing by the light of the silvery Santa Fe moon, fine dining, hiking, art appreciation, shopping, hot air ballooning, or all of the above for Bachelor, Chris Soules and his bevvy of beauties in the city different?

And, do you think the investment by New Mexico will pay off in painting the state as a hot tourist destination?

Chris' family owns LOTS of farmland and they do have animals however Chris' family mainly stays on the crop side of farming.  He does "get his hands dirty" however he's more involved in the business side.  The family has hired extra help to make up for his absence this harvest.

He's a very down to earth guy that can talk to anyone and really likes to have a good time.  All around great guy with very honest intentions.

Chris was at the Iowa Hawkeye football game meeting fans this past weekend.  I have some pictures from my aunt but I can't post them from my work computer.

On a weekend trip last Saturday to Sante Fe, New Mexico with three old friends from law school, our train stopped briefly in the scenic town of Lamy, NM.  Only one object at the tiny depot ... a newspaper box.  My three friends will never be the wiser as to why I randomly laugh out loud and decide to photograph the newspaper box.
