When SM sleuthers verified, through each other's clues, that Nick would be joining the Kaitlyn dating pool, my initial reaction was "protective".  What I wanted most was that whatever the outcome Nick return a happier version of himself than last season.  IMO that is what I believe has happened.  
It really doesn't matter to me what number he crosses the finish line at in the Bette Derby. In his post-season 10 interview with Ali he said he went on that season to have some fun, meet great guys, and a great girl AND maybe fall in love. A simple plan.  Venturing a quess that this time all goals were met.  I do think Kaitlyn is a great girl and maybe they fell in love or maybe they didn't.  There really is no way to determine the visceral. He needed to be there for them both to know. There is no downside to opening yourself up to a possibility even if that exploration doesn't result in a love connection. As many of us have stated before - no "what ifs" is a better state of being. 

My take on what I may see this season between Kaitlyn and Nick.  Something playful like the tongue & cheek lyrical duet-mashup below which if you listen closely, isn't a failed relationship but a man brought to his knees by a coquettish woman.  Regardless of whether the end result is lover or friend it will have ended well.

That is possible too. My Kanick shipping heart hopes it was more than that but if all end up happy that is ok too!

In my opinion, Nick has never looked better, and this is really saying something since I have swooned over pics of this guy for a year now. And as I see it, he looks totally happy and content. I am hoping this is because he was the last man standing with Kaitlyn at the end. But if not, then whatever the reason, if it is good enough for him then it is good enough for me.

^ Mark just returned from a Salesforce "holiday" in Maui.  A few of the other guys Nick is friends with from Salesforce were also there according to their IG.
Yes, Nick looks very tanned especially since Mark just returned from a week in Hawaii.

Nick looks so much happier than he did after Andi's season. So regardless of the outcome, I feel like he is fine.
