BIP Season 2 - Joe Bailey - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

Here's my thing with Joe - the vibe I get is that he is not defensive because he believe's he is right but rather because he knows he is wrong and actually does feel guilty about it.  I think he knows that the way he handled things, and by this I mean the tongue down Juelia's throat when she was questioning his intentions and his treatment of Jonathan, was vile.

IMO, had he manned up when Juelia questioned him, or even evaded with a half truth by saying "I want a chance to explore any opportunities that come along and that includes exploring opportunities with you but maybe with others as well.", I wouldn't have a complaint.

In Joe's defense (hard to believe), I think Juelia totally overstated what Joe said during their date and saw much more meaning in his words/actions than even he intended.

Well, I think he is a LITTLE defensive or he wouldnt react like a whiny child every time. Samantha even said he acted defensive when she was trying to coach him.

I do agree that Julia probably is misrepresenting things - she's already lied twice about him "immediately picking her out and asking her out" and "knowing about Ireland". I don't think it's crazy to think she might be lying/exaggerating other stuff, like him talking about moving to Oregon, which is a CRAZY thing to say after one date. 

I feel like in Joe's mind, what he did wasn't that different than what Jared did. He went out with Ashley, got a rose from her, but didn't promise her marriage and then went out with Clare. I think Joe's only mistake in regards to Julia was not being a little more sensitive. What he did to Jonathan was way worse, IMO. To be totally honest, it's crazy to me that someone who has gone through suicide of a spouse and had her in-laws send that letter to RS (where they basically blamed her for it) is that devastated over something like this. It just seems lacking in perspective.

Watching Joe this season and on After Paradise - plus taking a quick peak at some of his tweets - just makes me wonder about the whole vetting process for this show.

I agree with Chasing that his words and actions w/his "friend" Jonathan were just bat-sh*t-crazy and hopefully, hopefully said while he was wasted drunk.

Talk about just being totally out-of-his-mind in doing/saying what he felt was necessary to be on the show when Sammi showed up. Yikes. Not worth it!

Joe's whole obsession with Sam doesn't make sense to me. In one sentence he is saying that she's deceiving and conniving and in the next, but if she's willing to make nice, he wants to marry her. Who would want a relationship with the driver that just rolled the bus over them?

IMO it is chasing what you can't have.
After a break-up you are one way with your friends and the other way with the person that hurt you.
I think there was way more to their relationship than what we saw. They had slept together: ("do I get my room back now?")

Joe is not very bright, IMO. You can tell from his speech, which makes me cringe. For that matter, I cringe at how many of the contestants speak. Back to Joe...Why does he think that Samantha is out of his league? Because of her looks? That's pretty shallow. He comes across as a desperate and needy person, which is not an attractive look on anyone.

Just read some of his Twitter and he has solid support from female fans. It just goes to show. You can be the biggest jerk in the world, and there will still be a niche of people who love you.

He should visit LA or Miami more often. He could even meet some of his female fans. Probably one of them would love to go with him. You ever see the way they react when the Bachelor shows up at their viewing parties unexpectedly?

Yeah, they were snuggling together at Jared's birthday when they went to that game with Ashley. SO random.
