Thanks umngirl! That's a meal in itself and perfect for quick dinners. I would probably top them with shredded cheese and stick them in the oven for a few minutes till melted. That's definitely a keeper. I'll make those for sure.

Thanks MD! There is a lot of planning and work that goes into it, but it's a great alternative to the traditional gifts.

This one is for you umngirl. No baking required and really quick to put together.

I just made it for our Christmas Open House at work last week and everyone loved it.

You can decrease calories by using skim milk and light cool whip or light pudding mix.

Strawberry Icebox Cake

Prep Time 15min.
Total Time 4hr. 15min.

Servings 16 servings

2 pkg. (3.4 oz. each) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding or White Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding

2-1/2 cups cold milk

1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

3 cups sliced fresh strawberries

22-1/2 graham cracker sheets

2 oz. BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

Beat pudding mixes and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in COOL WHIP. Gently stir in strawberries.

Break whole graham sheets crosswise in half. Arrange 15 squares on bottom of 13x9-inch pan; cover with 1/3 of the pudding mixture. Repeat layers twice.

Refrigerate 4 hours. Just before serving, melt chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over dessert.

Looks yummy. I'll have to share my Oreo torte recipe at some point. It's like heaven in a pan.

How do you pronounce that Sprite? Is that the Hungarian name? I fill them with ground walnuts. I have used jam in the past too.

Kiflici...phonetically with the c sounding like ch in English. I don't know if it is Hungarian since where I am from in Split, Croatia we've been overrun by the Romans, the Ottomans and by the Austro/Hungarians so we have a lot of different influences. I've just always thought of them as Dalmatian but they very well could be from the Hungarian. All those Slavic languages have a lot of similarities.

Ok thanks. I didn't know if it was ch and the Italian in me or c as in see. My nephew married a Croatian girl and I grew up with Hungarians Croatian and Polish classmates. I'm very familiar with some of the customs. I just never want to watch a soccer game with the two sides in the same house. My poor nephew has to. laugh out loud

Hubby is thinking about making mulled or spiced wine in the crockpot one weekend. The apartment will smell great and we will be toasted

My son had mulled wine last weekend at a Christmas market in Toronto. He loved it.

Except I'm going to make Sprite's dessert recipe up thread for Christmas dinner. It's easy, and seems like a nice light dessert after a big meal.
