You don't see that very often. Sifting through little bits and pieces of chatter during interviews it seems there was a lot more conversations and note passing (like daily) between Shawn and Kaitlyn; not the first season this has gone on but it wasn't made very obvious. If there were any scenes that seemed to be "re-enacted" rather than organic I suspect a lot of it was because either Shawn or Kaitlyn had compared notes - more than what was made obvious with the sneaked meeting in Ben & Shawn's hotel root.
