Simone, who has been single for four years after her last partner cheated on her, said despite the pair getting along famously on their wedding day, her initial reaction to Xavier wasn’t what she’d hoped for.
“When I saw him, I instantly thought, ‘I don’t know if this is the right guy for me’. And when my husband told me he was a few years younger than me, it was a bit of a shock and it probably took me a few days to get over it.”
But to her surprise, the pair very quickly bonded.

MAFS - Australia - Season 2 - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers* Empty Re: MAFS - Australia - Season 2 - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Post by AllAboutLove Sun Apr 10, 2016 10:20 pm

So excited for this thread, thank you GA.  yes

I watched the first two episodes last week and so far it is very different but interesting - especially given that the marriage is not legal (I think it has something to do with marriage/divorce laws being different there? Not sure). I sometimes wonder if the "experts" put two people together just to see how much they can push each others buttons (and be forced to then confront their own issues) and have drama rather than for compatibility/ready for marriage?

The 4 couples so far not many seem a good match - maybe one of them?
  • Simone and Xavier - the interview above about Simone saying that about Xavier is very surprising considering on the show she said and acted like he was her dream guy. Makes me wonder now if things have gone awry?
  • Erin and Bryce - Erin seems all over the place to me. Not sure if she is acting or as she said she is just has walls up? She doesn't seem ready for marriage though. Bryce seems really nice.
  • Mark and Christie - I like Mark from what has been seen of him but not sure about Christie? I will be surprised if she gets out of the friendzone with Mark.
  • Jono and Clare - I think this pairing is over before it began. Based on articles here here and here it seems Jono is already with someone else? No surprise considering how he said that "Clare was not what I ordered" and swore up a storm just seeing what she looked like. He's a piece of work it seems with a real temper if media on him is correct.

Would love to hear what anyone else thought that watched the episodes? I can post links or embed videos for the episodes just in case anyone wants to watch that hasn't yet if that is okay?

I really enjoyed episode 1 & 2 and the only couple that appear to be well matched at this point imo is Simone and Xavier. It was lovely watching him say that she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. This article is in contrast to the one GA posted and seems to indicate Simone is happy post filming.

Thanks for posting @AEF yes I like what I have seen of Simone and Xavier as well. They seemed quite taken with each other. Good to hear that she seems happy post-filming. IA they seem like the only well-matched couple so far but not sure?

I have yet to watch Ep 3 (Honeymoons) but here is a link for Ep 3 for those who want to watch: http://vodlocker.com/98qh3dycsi0w

Just watched next two episodes, someone breaks up next week assume it's Jono and Clare but have to slow down preview although Clare is involved in the fight when the couples all have dinner together. Maybe they get back together for now.

Why is Christie commuting from Sydney to Melbourne, cannot see how the relationship will work even if all was good between them. Just on this basis it's a poor match and imo doomed. She said she was catching a bus, train, taxi and plane and hours of travel!

Is Erin playing up for the cameras she has never been food shopping? Funny that they seemed the most stable of the couples.

Xavier seemed very young with his focus on doing his hair and lack of attention to Simone. Hope they will work through it.

MAFS - Australia - Season 2 - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers* Empty Re: MAFS - Australia - Season 2 - Episode Discussion - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Post by AllAboutLove Tue Apr 12, 2016 8:00 pm

Just finished watching episode 3 and 4.

Jono and Clare need to call it a day. It's going nowhere fast. Seems to be a lot of the same types of issues that were with S1 Clare (and Lachie). It's just drama with them. Exhausting to watch them both.

Christie commuting 6.5 hrs seems way too much? Mark is treating her like a princess and Christie is liking this but IA with AEF, this seems doomed as it is far too long-distance and not a good match on that alone.

I am not sure anymore about Xavier? I see Simone is still into him but he seems withdrawn already from her? I will be surprised if they last as it feels like it was too fast too soon? Not sure if they are a match for the long haul...

Erin I still can't figure out if she is acting like AEF said or for real? That being said, she's actually kind of quirky/funny but very sincere with her relationship. I also think she is more emotionally intelligent and self-aware than she gives herself credit for. She says she is bad at communicating but seems to do just fine from what I can see and a lot better than those older than her. I really like her relationship with Bryce the most. Very stable and affirming and they have an ease about them and seem to really enjoy each other's company with attraction added into it too. They have had zero drama between them so far and the most drama is Erin anxious out about how to cut zucchini  giggling I think these two are good match and can see them lasting.
