I know that RS said that they were looking for women contestants right up until the first day of filming and that some women didn't even apply. If true -- I find that is interesting. 10 contestants have been sleuthed so far and I am really curious as to if they are all still there. Does anyone have an idea how many participants get sent home from night 1? I always felt sorry for some of those people. They really don't get much of a chance. JMO.

They cant be looking for women until the first day of filming. That makes no sense. They do have to pass some background checks, and medical tests etc.

yes!  And they have to potentially figure out plans as they may be gone for the next two months.  There is no way they were casts for this season up to the date they start filming.
