Okay -- pre-med I will buy. She evidently switched her major from pre-med to psychology. Both majors would require a number of the same courses (biology, chemistry, statistics, etc.)

Jenny McCarthy Likes Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s ‘Dad Bod’ But Thinks ‘The Bachelor’ Is a ‘Snooze Fest’

I found this quote (particularly the bolded), not from Jenny, but an insider the most interesting out of the article.

An insider recently told Us, “One of Arie’s biggest concerns is investing in a woman and then having her break his heart at the end. So he has to think about how age plays into his relationships. In the end, he wants to make sure whoever he chooses is ready for marriage.”

Maybe that's why he never fully, whole heartedly commits to relationships.  Can't get hurt if your not fully invested?  Maybe one of his old relationships pre-Bach caused enough heartbreak and emotional damage for him to avoid it now?  Just a thought.

She's done a lot of admirable volunteer work in her past. 
She attended Central Washington University from 2010-2011 for pre-med studies.

She attended Old Dominion University and received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Psychology from 2011-2015.  From 2013-2016 she also worked as an EMT. She's been a busy lady with internships and jobs. 

If that's a stepford wife, she's a very accomplished one. Not only attending college (2011-2015) but at the same time working as an EMT (2013-2016) is impressive.

I'm not sure where I heard this but IIRC I heard that Arie was quite hurt when his relationship with Cassie Harshman crumbled. Cassie (Harshman - not producer Cassie Lambert) had two children and was pregnant with Arie's child (and they planned to marry) when she miscarried and the relationship fell apart. Harshman doesn't have many good things to say about Arie so when it ended I think it ended badly.

I just read that article. She was very upset Arie would use the miscarriage as his sob story to Emily while cameras were rolling. They edited out that part. He wasn’t a very good role model to her other two children and her advice to Emily was....run.

That was then and this is now and Arie still hasn’t changed his spots. He’s just gotten better at his craft imo.

I find it so sad that Arie's ex, a single mother of 2, conceived and miscarried a child with Arie, yet ILYs were never exchanged. If women had more self-respect and men didn't get the goods so easily, then this wouldn't happen. If people want to enjoy sex without love, it's their decision but protect yourself - physically and emotionally.

Sorry, but how long does it take to realize that a man you are living with, who is not your children's father is a bad role model? Why put up with that for a week, more less years? WTF??? 
She allowed this bad role model to live with her for a couple years. So IMO she either has poor judgement herself by living with a poor role model for years and even then attempts to start her own family with this poor role model or she is expressing sour grapes. Perhaps somewhere in the middle, but she certainly is no woman of virtue and a good role model herself then IMO.
None of these people are saints, but the woman going to the tabloids to RS or whoever also makes my radar go up. I can't imagine raising children KNOWING the person is a bad role model and continuing to do such. That's crazy IMO. 
I think the recent ex-Sydney is the one that neither expressed and ILY during the dating period which was approx. 1 yr. Again, whats up with her that after a year she can't see he is not that into her. 
This doesn't excuse Arie's behavior, but what's up with these women? They aren't victims. IMO

  IMO previous relationships effect future ones. 
I do, however, think young Bekah made a good point - saying something to the effect that if she was with something who seemed very right that would likely be the catalyst for seriously considering marriage. In other words, it’s a specific person and that specific relationship that makes marriage a reality. Readiness in general isn’t a guarantee on its own. 
I could see this way of thinking overcoming the age factor (Bekah) and also explaining why Becca could be marriage ready but not specifically to her old long term boyfriend.

I think they are going to show him talking about the miscarriage in this season, because Mills talked about how Arie reveals something really heartbreaking that happened in a past relationship (maybe in week 5 or 6). Seems to be alluding to this, IMO.

All I know is I hope they stick to boring, vanilla guys like Benji and Farmer Chris for the Bachelor from now on. A baddy should never, ever be the Bachelor. They should only be the F1 on the Bachelorette. The last thing these baddies should be rewarded with is more women.

IMO you're probably right; if so - I might expect another blast from Cassie Harshman. Of course the thing is that Arie's discussion of this with Emily never aired on the show - presumably it was discussed but edited out. It's now widely known because of an interview Cassie gave to Radar Online! - so she herself put it out publicly on July 11, 2012.
