Abigail Heringer - Bachelor 25 - Matt James - Discussion - *Sleuthing Spoilers*

@Jaybird IA I was not in favour of Matt being TB simply because I felt he is not ready for a long term relationship and to me he was cast for giving themselves a pat on the back considering the backlash for not casting a black lead. They figure with TylerC's popularity, they'll go with Matt, that's how I see it. However, I always mentioned I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and hope he falls in love.

All this other stuff, the terrible display of disrespect by the women to each other, the name calling, describing Heather as a virus? questioning, did they know about Rachel? is beyond disgusting for me to watch and makes me loose interest in any possible true love story.

I have to echo everyone's recent comments on here.  Last night I felt myself tuning out quite a bit.   The show IMO has long been tone deaf as to respect for any behavioral boundaries.  I don't know if I am just more aware of it or if they are even worse, but the level of meanness and bullying is beyond the beyond.  

I was talking with a friend about the show and said I hoped that tptb took recent events as an opportunity to change and come into the 21st century.  I don't know if they want or are even capable of doing so.  


I liked Matt for bachelor but now I wonder if his lack of knowledge about the show contributed to all the mayhem.   Whatever, I'm ready for the season to end.  I always like the Bachelorette and even BIP better than the Bachelor.  We were so spoiled by Clare/Tayshia's guys who showed they could be so fun and entertaining without being azz's.  Mike Fleiss and company, DO Better.

Well to help you bring it back, I can add that Matt’s inexperience was on full display in the clip posted above.   He dismisses Abigail, (while touching her knee) and then escorts her to the waiting car.  He also says, “I wish we had more time”.    No Matt.  You had time on your busy schedule, but simply chose to give that time to other ladies.  His immaturity there was laying the blame elsewhere as if it was out of his hands.  A simple, and clear statement about his heart leading him in another direction would probably be a lot more respectful and honest.  This scene was just painful to watch.

I get Abigail’s comment too.   Dating world for a deaf person is tricky to navigate until you find your niche and have the self confidence to make sure your environment matches needs.  Self confidence is a big part of that and I wish we got to see more of how Abigail would do this for herself.  I have no doubt that she will be just fine- whether continuing with Bachelor or not. I wish we had seen more of her, as I suspect she has a lot of strength brewing under her quiet ‘persona’ that we saw here on the show. I have been there- and it takes a LOT of energy to be in such a social situation without your usual safe space.

@Jaybird Yep - it's like somebody did their voodoo all over this season to bring out the worst of the bad vibes. I think what could have been (a la Tayshia's season) and everything comes up short (except Matt's height).
