My impression of Katie is that she needs a lot of hand-holding, whereas Blake needs a more independent woman. I admire the work that Blake does with wildlife conservation in Africa, and I'm looking forward to seeing what life holds for him.

Good for him. I never felt any kind a way about him but now after all this crap with Katie, Blake is appearing to be the better person in all of this. He dodged a bullet I will say, he is better off with someone who truly appreciates him and what he gives back to the world.

Didn't we speculate that he was F1 at one point? Was it him who worked at some restaurant where she was after filming? That would be too funny, although I would advise him to run.
I feel for Blake. He deserves better.
You could be the juiciest, most ripe peach, but there is still going to be someone who doesn't like peaches.

Not that I expected anything less, but Blake is really taking the high road on that podcast, just calling Katie’s “12 days...” her way of dealing with emotions after the breakup.
He says apart from their sense of humor, they are very different people. They would work as best friends, but in a romantic relationship, the differences quickly became exhausting.
He says definitely no to being the next Bachelor.
The segment starts at 0:36. It’s worth a listen.

There are two parts of the interview. Second part was recorded yesterday and Blake was raw, distraught & emotional IMO, even blaming himself and Mike/Bryan asked him not to. In summary, he found out about Katie/John with no heads up, believes Katie knew 12 days ago John was going to be revealed on Day 12, wondering about timeline of events. Also said this is the second time he has now experienced an ex leaving him for someone that was just their friend; so hopefully he heals from this before his next relationship.
