New Bachelorette Will Be Announced Live During "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose"
The hit reality romance series "The Bachelorette" will return to the ABC schedule, along with "Mistresses," a sexy new scripted drama, on Monday nights beginning in May.

"The Bachelorette," now in its ninth season, will premiere MONDAY, MAY 20 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network, before moving to its regular time slot of 8:00-10:00 p.m., ET the following week. The identity of the latest Bachelorette will be revealed during "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose," airing LIVE on MONDAY, MARCH 11 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).


"THE BACHELORETTE"

This season the hit romance reality series will feature its ninth edition with the lucky new Bachelorette getting to know 25 fortunate men via a series of social gatherings and exotic, romantic dates - some in groups, some individually. She will introduce some of the men to her family and will visit their hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the man with whom she is most compatible. At the end of the journey, filled with drama and surprises against the backdrop of spectacular international settings and featuring innovative twists and special guest stars, the Bachelorette may quite possibly have found true love. But the big question is: After all of this, will she hand out her final rose? And if she does, will the final bachelor accept it and propose?

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelorette" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers.

E! News exclusively reported last week that Des was in final talks to become the new Bachelorette. And, while it's unclear what exactly she was shooting in Santa Monica today (and a Bachelorette crew would have been sworn to secrecy, regardless), there's something awfully familiar about a single gal, hair blowing in the breeze, gazing at the ocean while looking as if she's waiting for the man of her dreams to materialize.

"Des was smiling and was happy. She definitely seemed like she was enjoying herself," an eyewitness to the secret-but-public shoot exclusively told E! News.

The source also told us that Des, indeed, was on the pier at one point, looking off into the distance, cotton candy in hand.

Warner Bros. meanwhile, has reiterated that the studio doesn't comment on casting rumors or speculation and that the identity of the newest Bachelorette will be officially revealed during After the Final Rose, airing after The Bachelor finale on Monday.

1) She is a bridal stylist — Desiree is both a designer and a bridal stylist, and she used to work at Serenity Bridal. She will be wearing her own wedding dress soon enough, so it’s ideal that she has all these bridal contacts!

The 26-year-old reality show star lit up the scene in a neon pink track jacket and black stretch pants as she herded several of the hopeful bachelors through a group dodgeball date.

In photos from the date, the men look like they're keeping up with the colorful sports gear theme as well, in bright red jerseys, sweatbands and knee-high socks.

This isn't the first time Hartsock has been spotted on a date, however. The Bachelorette was also previously snapped on a date with one contestant, Fit Marketing sales representative Brooks Forrester, a few miles west in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Excited fans tweeted their sighting immediately as the couple enjoyed a ride in a convertible up Sunset Boulevard and later stopped for dessert at the B Sweet Dessert Truck.

"OMG just saw Desiree on her first date for The Bachelorette! She's so cute omg & we talked & the guy was so hot," one wrote.

Even show producer Mike Fleiss couldn't resist weighing in on Hartsock's special one-on-one date.

"Excellent first date for Dez!!!" he tweeted of the Saturday, March 16 date. "So important to get off to a good start. Dez is doing great. Already a first kiss!!!"

'The Bachelorette' Dances On Andaz West Hollywood For Latest Date

Last week, we learned that The Bachelorette, Desiree Hartstock, filmed one of her numerous dates at the Ojai Valley Inn, much to guest Johnny Jet's dismay. This week, we learn that Des and her men took over the Andaz West Hollywood and what a date it was: Our tipster writes in:


I was meeting a friend for lunch on the Sunset Strip this Thursday when we noticed a crowd in front of the Andaz hotel and a production crew with three or four cameras. We looked up and people were dancing on the facade of the building. We stuck around until the dancers came down to the ground and saw it was Des (The Bachelorette) on one of her dates. Here's a pic I snapped while they were rigged up on wires.


We don't know yet if the filming impacted any guests staying at the hotel (if it did, tell us!) but we're gonna guess that if you woke up at the Andaz one morning and saw this happening outside your window, you might be a little miffed. Especially if you hadn't put your pants on yet.

FANS OF A LADY looking for love on television and oft-shirtless, blandly attractive men: Get thyselves to Atlantic City.

"The Bachelorette," now in its ninth season, is filming in A.C. all week. Desiree Hartsock, who was rejected by Sean Lowe on the last season of "The Bachelor," now has the upper hand in the war of the roses.

My spies gave me the scoop on where they're all heading. The cast started shooting Monday and is staying at Revel, the fancy-schmancy casino that recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. While gallivanting around South Jersey, Hartsock and her posse hit up Steel Pier (for some romantic Ferris wheeling?), Absecon Lighthouse (for some romantic lighthouse touring?) and the House of Blues (for some romantic rocking out?).

"Bachelor" fans will remember Desiree as the chick who lost out on her rose after her brother, Nate, berated Lowe for being a "playboy," among other not-so-nice things. Although I agree that dating 20-some-odd women at once qualifies someone for playboy status, Lowe also publicly proclaimed he was a born-again virgin, making it difficult for him to truly make Hugh Hefner proud. Then again, Hefner, to my knowledge, dated only seven women at once, so maybe Lowe is on to some next level of loving that I'm not even aware of.

Now that Desiree is doing the same thing as Sean, I wonder how Nate feels about the whole sitch. Is it too much to ask for some A.C.-based family drama?

* Hey, maybe "The Bachelorette" crew will run into Joy Behar, who is hanging out at Revel with some gal pals this week, including appointments at the Bask Spa. She needs the R&R after announcing that she's leaving "The View" after 16 years on the daytime talker.

Desiree Hartsock already has plenty of fans after she won over the hearts of viewers with her bubbly personality and positive attitude during Sean Lowe's recent season of The Bachelor.

Therefore, many viewers are anxiously awaiting Desiree's season of The Bachelorette, which will begin airing in May.

We've got the first look at artwork for Desiree's season, and it's, in a word, rosy.

The Hollywood Reporter here exclusively debuts the key art for the ninth season of the ABC spinoff dating show, which features the bridal stylist wearing a glamorous red dress, designed to look like dozens of roses. THR recently spoke with the show's creator, Mike Fleiss, who says that shooting Desiree's season has been "really entertaining."

She’s very likable, she’s very sincere, she’s really looking for love," he says.

"I’ll say this about her: I think she’s one of the most telegenic people I’ve ever seen," Fleiss adds. "She sparkles on camera."

Desiree was a fan favorite on Sean’s season of The Bachelor. The bridal stylist quickly won over fans early on in the season. However, she was sent home after the hometown visits episode, when her brother grilled Sean and accused him of being disingenuous.

The Bachelorette will have its two-hour premiere Monday, May 27 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
