Recently I've read In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume (written for adults). Loosely based around some real life plane crashes in Elizabeth, NJ. I heard her interviewed on NPR and it interested me so I found it at the library. I enjoyed it.

I'm sure a lot of you have read The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah. My book club read it a couple of months ago and gave it high marks. It was an interesting take on WW2 in France and featured 2 sisters.

I just finished The Bookseller by Cynthia Swanson. I loved the movie Sliding Doors and this has a little similarity to it. A single woman who co-owns a bookstore with her friend starts dreaming a different life where she's married with children. I read it in a day because I wanted to know what was going on. I think it makes a great summer read. If you don't find it at your library, they have the Kindle version on for $1.99.

I've read The Nightingale and The Bookseller and enjoyed both.
I am able to check out online e-readers through our library. I am enjoying that vs buying!
I am saving the new Stephen King for when we go on vacation. It's the latest and probably last in the Bill Hodges trilogy. I hope it's good.

My doctor asked me: "Does anyone in your family suffer from mental illness?" My answer:"No they all enjoy it immensely."

Currently reading The Girl on the Train. It reminds me of Gone Girl.

I also loved The Nightingale..one of my favorites.

I recently finished The Travelers by Chris Pavone. He is a new author to me and writes really good spy thrillers. On the recommendation of my PA friends, I read Elin Hillderbrand's novels set on Nantucket. They are a quick summer read and I enjoyed them a lot.

Yes!! I would tell you the part of both that infuriates me but I don't want to spoil anything for those that haven't read them.

I'm not a fan of romance novels. Are Hilderbrand's books romance lite or heavy, Pav?

I'm reading this now as well. It is excellent but difficult to read at times.

bean, I'm not a romance novel fan either. These have romance but they are often about friendships, families etc. Pretty realistic, not overblown bodice rippers. LOL. Some characters recur in various novels.

Thanks. Maybe I'll try one as a summer read.

My non-fiction book club is doing "The Wright Brothers" by David McCullough. It took me a bit to get into it but was really interesting to read about them. It was all about their drive and perseverance. They really did it on their own.

Just finished "The Woman in Cabin 10" by Phyllis Ware. I read it in about 3 days, it was that good. Some comments compared it to Gone Girl, others to Agatha Christie.
