it was always Richie's gig, imo, and only way he won't be the Bach is if he changes his mind last minute which I don't see happening.
I expect Channel 10 realize they would be nuts to pass up someone who has a huge built-in following already that is so pro-Richie.
If anything, the positive media only will ensure he gets to be lead and take that risk.
This is exactly like how Ben H did his media... he never did hardly any interviews, didn't do any GMA interview only when he came out as the next Bach before filming was starting.
He also posted on his IG a message to the lead thanking her and wishing her happiness with her F1.
I always said this was like K's season when it came to edit. It's uncanny.

It's the same as any other mag where it is never "official" (channel 10 will do that if so) but it is pretty much a done deal just like having a photo cover of Sam with Sasha and the heading "love at first sight".

These mags always have inside scoop but keep people in suspense. Sam also tweeted what is in the OK mag article (tweet upthread). It's a rally of showing support and getting people behind someone they have already picked, imo. They have to do that to get people behind a new lead, etc.

And the timing is important too because this is being stated before the finale... so everyone sees only Richie as next bachelor and thus no chance for the F2 (Michael). It's a deliberate strategy, imo, by Shine and Ch 10 to ensure that support is where they want it to be (Richie).

It's similar to what happened with Ben H. There were "rumours" and "Ben H is the next Bachelor" in magazines for months before it was "official" before filming started.  So far official show related OK mag and TV Week mag have run this story of Richie for Bachelor. It's just a great strategy b/c casting usually gets lots more contestants applying when the lead is known. And tons of people are saying they will apply on his IG, on the official accounts, etc.

^ Just to add... it's not a guarantee though. Richie could meet someone in that time frame and may even be seen trying to "date" so it doesn't appear like he is just sitting around waiting until February when filming starts for the lead (and show itself for contestants in March first week). Ben H had 4 months to wait from end of him being F3 to begin filming for the lead gig and he was tied to other girls, etc, so will have to see. Sam had the same thing though... her being the Bachelorette and she said she didn't know if she was ready and also dated people and then 6+ months did the gig.

It seems Richie did some radio interviews? Anyone know of any? Since it is Perth any residents of Perth hear Richie on the radio at all?
