Ben Higgins may not have captured Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe's heart, but on The Bachelor Season 20 the software salesman who once considered himself "unlovable" gets to try his hand at handing out the roses and possibly finding a wife. There is so much excitement in store on what is bound to be one of the most romantic seasons to date. On MONDAY, JANUARY 4 8|7c Ben's journey begins with an introduction to the 28 women vying for his heart. Whether or not Ben will find his soulmate remains to be seen, but Season 20 will be far from boring with lots of surprises on the way, including some special guests, exotic dates and shocking eliminations. Here's five things to expect on Ben's search for love:



Gentlemanly Advice

Navigating a sea full of beautiful women won't be easy for Ben. Luckily he gets some help along the way by three men who have been through the same process - former Bachelors Sean Lowe (Season 17), Jason Mesnick (Season 13) and last season's Prince Farming himself, Chris Soules. The trio will arrive at the mansion to offer Ben some words of wisdom before he meets the 28 ladies.

First Date Laughs

Ben's first one-on-one date will be filled with laughter as he and one lucky contestant are joined by Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. The comedian and hip hop mogul will be the ones planning Ben's date, so you know it will be one for the record books

Kickin' It With The 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup Soccer Team

Ben kicks the competition up a notch when he takes 12 bachelorettes to play a spirited soccer game with members of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup championship soccer team including Alex Morgan and Kelly O'Hara.

A Fashionable Trip to Mexico

Ben escorts his final nine ladies to Mexico for a sexy trip filled with delicious food and fashion. The bachelorettes will get to meet one of the country's hottest fashion designers and walk the runway to open Mexico's Fashion Week.

Memorable Bachelorettes

The women vying for Ben's heart include a friend of Kaitlyn's, a woman with a mini-horse companion and a set of stunning twins. Will one of them walk away with a ring from Ben?

America was hooked the second Ben Higgins, the handsome and charming small-town guy from Warsaw, Indiana, stepped out of the limo to greet last season’s Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe. Now, as he tries to shed his self-described moniker of being “unlovable” and put his heartbreak behind him, he is ready to give love a second chance with 28 beautiful women. Ben, the perfect “10,” hopes to find his soul mate, the woman who can share the love and support he felt growing up in a close-knit community, and make her his wife, as this highly anticipated 20th season of ABC’s hit romance reality series, “The Bachelor,” premieres on MONDAY, JANUARY 4 (8:00-10:01 p.m., EST), on the ABC Television Network.

In “Episode 2001,” a trio of former Bachelors – Sean Lowe, Chris Soules and Jason Mesnick – arrive at the mansion to offer Ben some words of wisdom before he starts his journey to find the love of his life. What are the do’s and don’ts on one of the most important nights of his life? Ben is filled with excitement and anticipation as limos start to arrive. Despite being 26, he feels ready to find the right woman and start a family.

One by one, the gorgeous bachelorettes are prepared to make a lasting first impression. One woman reveals she is friends with Kaitlyn. Ben does a double take as another striking lady stands outside the limo – and is joined by her identical twin sister. A stunner makes a bold move and goes in for a kiss that Ben won’t soon forget. A woman with a companion – a mini-horse – gets invited inside the mansion. One woman is so nervous that she forgets to tell Ben her name.

Once inside the mansion, the party really gets started. No sooner does Ben start to welcome the women than one determined dentist steals him away for a private exam. But two last-minute arrivals turn the party upside down. Another bold bachelorette decides to plant the first real kiss of the night on Ben with surprising results. Finally, Ben offers the coveted first-impression rose to one stunned woman who never expected to receive it.

The stakes are high as the long, stressful first night winds down and it’s time for the first rose ceremony of the season. Twenty-one lucky women will continue their journey to win Ben’s heart. But, of course, one brazen bachelorette pulls our Bachelor aside and chastises him for something he didn’t do.

Romantic and adventurous dates will reach new heights this season, testing the ladies’ perseverance in pursuing their romantic objective, along with fun, exciting and exotic dates that will elicit real and raw passions.

Ben’s first one-on-one date is a doozy! He and a spirited bachelorette are joined by Ice Cube and Kevin Hart – fresh from the set of “Ride Along 2,” in theaters nationwide on January 15th – who decide they know exactly what to do on this date. But will this woman roll with the punches? Twelve bachelorettes get to “kick it” with Ben, playing a spirited soccer match with members of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Soccer Championship team, including Alex Morgan and Kelley O’Hara. Another dozen women attempt to impress Ben with their talents as the opening act for the versatile singer, comedian and celebrity impersonator Terry Fator at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. The Bachelor escorts nine sexy señoritas on a tasty trip through Mexico City to learn about the Spanish language and the scrumptious food. Still another woman gets to meet one of Mexico’s premiere fashion designers and walk the runway to open their stellar Fashion Week. Six ladies are totally surprised by the company they will keep during a day of fun and sun on Pig Island. It’s just them, the handsome Bachelor and a bunch of wild, swimming pigs! Ben takes one woman to the Baker’s Youth Center in his hometown of Warsaw, Indiana, where he used to spend summers working with the kids. He is stunned when several of the Indiana Pacers, including NBA superstar Paul George, visit the center to participate in the festivities with them. Then it is on to Wrigley Field for a spectacular one-on-one date at the historic baseball stadium, but does the date qualify as a home run? The hometown dates are filled with emotional revelations, but when the final three women travel to an exotic tropical island for the romantic overnight dates, there are even more shocking surprises awaiting our unsuspecting Bachelor.

As in the past, women will continue to be eliminated each week, but if at any point a woman should decide that she’s no longer interested in the Bachelor, she can reject his invitation to continue dating. Some lucky women will meet his family, and he will visit their hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the woman with whom he is most compatible.

Chris Harrison Reveals 'Bachelor' Star Ben Higgins Will Be 'Vulnerable' This Season

Hoping for a sweet, vulnerable man to steal a lucky lady's heart (and perhaps yours?) on the upcoming season of The Bachelor? Looks like you're going to be in luck!

ET caught up with longtime host Chris Harrison at KIIS FM's iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Los Angeles on Friday, where he shared insight into what Bachelor nation can expect to see on Ben Higgins' upcoming season.

"It's hard for me to be unbiased, because he's a friend. He's just a good man -- very sincere and humble -- but he's a little vulnerable, a little fragile," Harrison revealed.

Loyal fans of the show may remember that when Higgins appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette, the 27-year-old Colorado-based stud deemed himself "unlovable," and Higgins says they address that sentiment.

"We obviously deal with that and you'll see that kind of play out throughout the season," he explained. "When you set the bar so high with a guy like that, obviously there's something to fight for, and the women are fighting for him."

Like Bristowe's season, which was jam-packed with fights, Harrison said the quarrels this time around are "good" and "dramatic."

"It's not about who's bad or who's evil," he clarified. "This season it's just about [the fact that] he's a catch. [The girls] see this guy as a massive catch."

Harrison also told ET that Higgins reminds him of another Bachelor: Sean Lowe!

"Just as far as the sincerity," he said, also noting the two are both "sweet" and "humble."

"You got a glimpse of Sean back on Emily [Maynard]'s season, but you really fell in love with him when you got to know him on The Bachelor," he continued. "Same thing with Ben. You got a taste of him on Kaitlyn's season, but once America really sees who he is, they're going to freak out. I think his season would most resemble Sean's."

This season also holds a unique twist, as twins will be fighting for Higgins' heart. "They've never been interested in the same guy, but they [saw Ben on the show] and said, 'You know what? We both like this guy. We're going to go in,'" Harrison explained. "While that seems like every guy's dream, if you think about it, it's really a nightmare. Ben trying to date two people in the same family? That's not OK!"

ET got Harrison to open up about the big question on every fan of the show's mind: What happens if the twins both make it to the hometowns episode?

"Maybe in a way they do," Harrison teased. "You'll see."
