A poster on reddit said their "buddy" was was chosen a couple of weeks ago as a contestant for the Bachelorette. Production called him today. Due to his age (he's 26) he won't be on this season. They're looking for a more age appropriate group of men.

I think that's why they are announcing Clair on Monday. They're hoping for some "last minute" applicants who are closer to Clair's age JMO

I reckon it could be pulling in applicants from previous years that didn't make it for some reason or another too.
