Does Hozier live in Dublin? Was he doing shows? What got the buzz going that he might perform for the show?
Also curious to hear from our Ireland/visitors of Ireland boardies -- is christchurch one of the main attractions in Dublin and thus a sought after destination? It's always interesting to me how they pick the sites for dates -- i wonder if they are going to do a rooftop date at night or something for it...
Similar to how you alluded to it sue -- I find it hard to imagine the church in ireland would be cool with having a date with dinner inside the church...esp with the importance of religion in Ireland
Christchurch is a major site in Dublin. (I fit the "visitor" category). Even though I've been there I didn't know about the Crypt being used for rental purposes. Someone posted about it on the forum. I can see that venue being used for a dinner with music. Previous I was baffled as to why in the church.
Regarding "Take me to the church", it could be controversial IMO to have the song performed in a religious venue in terms of the performance being aired to millions of viewers. It is a statement about same sex relationships and opinions vary on the subject. It would also put Christchurch in an awkward position.
Interestingly, since we think Nick is on this date, one of his close friends married since he appeared on the last season Bette. He posted a pic of her with her bride on IG.

He is also pictured with her at the Sam Smith concert (where he makes a comment about her having an accent similiar to Sam) and in one of the last pic he posted before joining Kaitlyn. In that pic he uses the tag #irish. (think it was in reference to St. Paddy's Day).
