Nick Viall Bachelorette 11 - Fan Forum - Thread #17

It feels like Nick has spent the last few weeks re-branding himself to the public. I sort of wondered why he would do this if he thought that he was going to be the Bachelor as most fans are already familiar with him and have a set opinion of him, good or bad. Updating his IG account and launching a website are not going to change the fans that are not fond of him.

However, if he is going to be on DWTS or is seeking to be more active in the fashion world, it makes sense to "reinvent" himself on social media as his success in either depends in part on public opinion. In the past, he did not have to care what the public thought of him. However with his new endeavors, his success is partially dependent on his likability factor. His website allows new fans to see Nick's real personality by reading articles and hearing the podcast interviews without the tainted Bachelorette history coming into play as much. I don't think that he is trying to forget that part of his life as it is part of what has made him who he is today. It is more that he is attempting to build on his Bachelorette history and bring the public's perception of him to a more accurate picture of who he really is.

All of his SM accounts showcase his ironic, ingenious and self deprecating sense of humor while revealing that he does have an accurate, perceptive and intelligent worldview. And while I would love to see more profound content on the website, I will not be suprised if he keeps it light, fun and therefore more easily pleasing to a larger group of fans. That is a less satisfying, but more globally pleasing route. Probably the smarter route as well.

All of this to say that as a long time fan, I am happy for Nick. There really are no limits to what he can accomplish. Although, I hope that he also takes to heart what he mentioned about Ben H... it is important to remember your roots and not forget where you come from. Love what the most recent photographer said: Nick is #therealwinner.

And I love his latest IG posting... One of my favorite photos of him. That smile and the thoughts behind it are my favorite part of Nick.
