And they do. Meryl and Charlie (Olympic Ice Dancers) actually have had TONS of dance experience and had even worked with Derek Hough as they honed their Olympic routine. And Meryl won with Max. Their casting department just wants to find a compelling combination to get viewers to watch to the end (and hopefully end up with a few strong dancers in the bunch who make the final worthwhile. If they believe Kaitlyn is good to great TV she may get a shot... and if she has a strong ratings season. I do think that the producers also look to see who got along with the production staff at the Bach- I think both Sean and Chris were highly co-operative and understood that they were filming a TV show- and that it wasn't always just about them- a bit of humility as it were. So I think they were given the opportunity of dwts as a little financial "bonus"- yes, they had to work for it, but the minimum's not bad.
If Kaitlyn hasn't developed a sense of self- importance from the experience, she'd be a good one to ask on the show... because I think she has one persona, not a private v. public one (that my opinion, of course... I don't know her- it could be that you don't see what you get...).

I'm just saying, the DWTS gig is more likely to NOT be in Kaitlyns future, than likely to be in her future. Based on everything everyone mentioned above.
