Amanda Stanton - BIP - Season 3 - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

Her engagement from her ex was probably three carats. That thing was huge! Bigger than the ring she just got from Josh. There's a few pics of it on her IG, all the way near the bottom. It looked really nice on her.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought when Amanda complained (on Ben's season) about her ex it was the fact that he was sexting other women (while married to her), and that he wasn't wanting to spend much time with the girls or as a family. He preferred to be out with his friends etc. etc.  I don't ever remember her complaining that he didn't financially support them.  There's a big difference IMO. Viewers and forum people labeled him a deadbeat, not Amanda.

You're right. But I think she made him sound real bad when she explained all that. When yeah, he may not have been physically active as a husband or father, but he supported them financially. Though, I think the former is more important on a active responsibility level.

So ex-Nick was never a deadbeat, per se. He just didn't prioritize his wife and kids during the marriage and put going out with friends (and other women) first.   I don't blame Amanda for being unhappy with that situation.  Financial support is important, but being there physically for her and the kids is more important IMO.

I know a couple like this. The husband makes big bucks and they have a beautiful home and lots of "toys"m but he is an absentee husband and father and she is miserable. Money can only buy so much happiness. Having a loving, faithful and "physically present" supporting partner/ father is priceless.

Yeah, I agree, except that is not quite the story. IMO. 
Amanda, herself, said her first pregnancy was unplanned and they married to try to work things out regardless of the apparent existing red flags. Once they were married, the red flags continued. So what did she do? She got pregnant again. 
IMO something is wrong with that logic.

I wonder if she has been trying to get more acting jobs. She had a few pre marriage.

I don't think logic was involved there. Probably more raging hormones.

Either way, I think she may have hit the jackpot with Josh if this does last.  He will financially support them and will be the kind of husband/father that will put family first. IMO.

LOL yeah, she must've been on a mission to find a new provider. At least she has the SM shilling to fall back on this time. I guess that's why she compared going on these TV shows to a full-time job, since they've given her an income of sorts.

Judging by what Andi said, Josh is happy to be the provider though as long as his other half is a baby factory, so Amanda seems like the perfect woman for him. She can stay at home popping out babies while Josh brings home the bacon.

I just didn't want someone labelled incorrectly as a deadbeat. To me, I refer to a deadbeat parent when they don't pay their financial obligations as set out in a separation agreement.

In my line of work, I often come across those who have outstanding judgements for child support in the thousands of dollars. To me, those are deadbeats.
