Matty has narrowed down his final two to Elise and Laura, and we're set to find out tonight who has truly won his heart. Both admitted in the penultimate episode to having fallen for him, but how close is their bond? Ahead of the finale, we asked Elise and Laura the same 10 questions about Matty. Laura

"I feel like I should know this one, I'm pretty sure it's blue. He wore a blue suit every single time!"

"I have no idea, some sort of drama or love/romance thing."

"Oh my god, I have no idea. He grew up in Queensland, but I don't know the city."
4. His guilty-pleasure food?
"Ice cream? I feel like that's wrong . . . It's not chocolate! Can we just go with dessert?"

"I know he has a few. He does a roast chicken, chicken pie and salmon."

"Probably Instagram."

"Maldives! We talked about that on our very first date."

"He works in Marketing."

"He's afraid of ghosts! Wait no, not fulfilling his full potential."

"Red! Wait it's not, he always wears blue!"

"He's a real drama kinda guy. I dont know exactly . . ."

"Well, he was born in Port Augusta, and then grew up in Brisbane."

"He's got a massive sweet tooth — chocolate!"
5. Does he have a signature dish that he likes to cook?
"Yeah, salmon. He's a salmon extraordinaire! Or his mum's roast chicken."
6. Favourite social media platform?
"Instagram."

"Somewhere by the beach and ocean-oriented."

"He is a marketeer!"

"Ghosts! [Laughs]"

That is the question everyone is asking ahead of tonight’s The Bachelor Australia finale, after Matty J was seen flashing a diamond ring during the promo of tonight’s episode that aired last night.

Now, TV WEEK can exclusively reveal the stunning sparkler Matty J had designed for his chosen lady – and it’s absolutely breathtaking.

Created by Larsen Jewellery, who specialise in custom made engagement and wedding rings; the piece is made in 18ct white gold and set with a stunning 1.30oct oval diamond.




It also features 32 diamonds set in to the shoulders of the ring, and a delicate band with intricate woven wire detail underneath the centre diamond.

“Matty wanted the ring to be feminine and elegant,” Kate Reid, Senior Jeweller at Larsen Jewellery, tells TV WEEK.

“This ring is the perfect example of the way that our team of jewellers work closely with each customer, in this case, Matty J, to create a piece of jewellery that is personal, unique and that they will love for a lifetime.”

So just why did Matty go with this particular design?

“It is often suggested that the entwined wire symbolises a future with two lives woven into one,” Kate explains, adding Matty selected the oval cut diamond himself.

“He was very involved in the whole process and we worked together to sketch out and finalise the design.”

Having created and designed wedding bands for actress Teresa Palmer and her husband Mark Webber, Kate says despite the quick turnaround, her team managed to deliver the goods.

“Our design appointment with Matty lasted a little over an hour and our jewellers started making the ring on the same say,” Kate reveals.

“Let’s just say we pulled off a miracle to get it ready in time for Matty,” Kate laughs.

While rumours are rife Matty will drop to one knee during tomorrow night’s finale and ask his chosen lady to marry him, the 31-year-old certainly didn’t deny it when we put the question to him.

“There are people who propose in six weeks. You think ‘How the hell does that make sense?’ But I think when you find the right one, you know,” Matty says.

Opinion: How is Elise Stacy in The Bachelor's final two? This girl came out of nowhere.
Is anyone else as confused as I am that Elise Stacy has managed to get to the top two of The Bachelor Australia with Laura Byrne? That she beat out Australia’s fan favourite Tara Pavlovic? That she very possibly could win Matty Johnson’s heart?

Three weeks ago, I didn’t know who she was, and I doubt the rest of the contestants in the Bachelor mansion knew either.

The former professional hockey player has been the dark horse of the series, and she’s even happy to admit that herself. In fact, she recently told TV WEEK that it was her game plan all along.

“I was quite happy to stay under the radar until now,” she explained. “And I’m so excited for people to see how Matty and I are together.

“We both feel like, ‘Why didn’t this happen earlier? 
It’s been a nice surprise’.”

So, if Elise is the last woman standing at the end of all this, will the rest of Australia feel like they’ve been given the love story they deserve?

I’m not so convinced.

The carefully edited moments that we’ve seen of both Laura and Elise’s journey so far could be a sign that the finale goes both ways. Let’s try and get into the producers head a little and understand what their plan is.

Elise doesn’t win
Elise got very little air time in the first half of the series, and that probably has something to do with the fact she didn’t engage in any of the Jen/Leah/Elora/Sian drama. None of those girls lasted so it’s obviously a good thing she didn’t.

But if she gets given the final rose, I’m going to feel a little ripped off. Sure, Elise and Matty had some romantic dates of late and we can see they’re SUPER compatible. But I still feel like I don’t know who she is.

And I’m certainly not going to have a reaction like I did when Richie Strahan rejected Nikki Gogan and Georgia Love broke Matty’s heart (I curled into a ball and cried for days, FYI).

Elise does win
On the flip side, the producers could totally want to throw us off and surprise us by letting the underdog take out the top prize. There’s still one episode to go and this could be the night where we all realise that while it may have been a slow burn between the two of them, Elise is the right lady for him. There’s nothing better than an unpredictable finale!

But honestly, no matter how much we can sit here and debate who’s going to win Matty’s heart, we won’t know until that first Bachelorette steps out of the car. I can't wait to find out!
