Episode 1 Quick Thoughts Only cos it's Past My Bedtime.

- The new mansion's fancy.  Looks like Ch 10 put their jobkeeper cash to good use




- I like Jimmy. He seems genuine and remarkably down to earth considering his family are clearly minted.




- I liked the scenes with his Dad.  We need to see more men expressing this kind of emotion on TV  




- Is Carlie really only 33?  She appears rather... mature.




- I can see why they cast Laura; gotta have at least one every season.

- Brooke should be Top 4 and could have a promising career as a voice actress for children's cartoons if she's interested.  




- Jay  Wore.  That.  Dress.   Hoooooooo girl.  




- I don't even know what to say about the full length feature documentary of Holly's entire life.  Who's the Lead again?




- DON'T BLINK!!!




- Chanel got a better intro that I expected.  I wonder why she doesn't get a date. Maybe he's had enough flight attendants already.  




- Jimmy's clearly not a gamer if he thinks WoW is something you play when you're 10.  You play it at 35, spend a small fortune on microtransactions, and it consumes every moment of your waking life




- I'm not sure the origin of Steph's pathological hatred of pilots but assume it will be fleshed out at some point if she doesn't knife him in his sleep first.




- Noting that Jimmy has a Matt Agnew-style forehead vein.  Could come in handy to reveal his true innermost ~ thoughts ~




- Most of these girls would make me want to hurl myself from the nearest roof two minutes into a conversation but that's par for the course with this show.




- So Jay is clearly the early frontrunner we were warned wouldn't win and Holly got the textbook episode 1 F1 edit.  Meh.




- Overall a solid first episode.   Jimmy's good at small talk which is a positive - nothing worse than a wooden Lead IMO.

I missed the rose/key moment last night with Jay. But it's up on ten play extras for anyone in Australia.
Jay seems quite shy/nervous, not great bette material in my mind. But she seems lovely and very genuine. But geez she has low standards! When Jimmy asks what she would want in a partner, beyond her quip of 'someone who can play chess', her answer was someone to have a laugh with, bit of banter.
I think she just may not be able to sell herself enough in this environment to make it to f1. As in we know she won't because of sports bet but I think that might be part of why.

Edit...also in her first meeting with Jimmy she says a few things that make me think she has low self esteem. I really will hate to see her be f2.
