Katie Thurston - Bachelorette 17 - Discussion

I am here to stir the pot…

Someone mentioned at Reddit that none of the producers congratulated Katie and Blake on SM when they did so in previous seasons. So I checked.

Another producer just made her account private like 5 minutes ago, so I can’t talk about her post.

Why is that？

@sdmom I have a feeling there is so much more to all of this. I will say I am disappointed in Katie, got to like Blake a bit, got to respect Greg a bit more. and am kind of ready to just move on.

If the producers dislike Katie, I think there are two main reasons:
1. She famously said that she didn’t want CH as host. Tabloids reported that the crew was whining about how nothing was the same with him gone. I’m sure many of them were loyal to him.
2. She was “decisive” when it came to sending men home, which probably caused problems for production. Difficult to control.

Yes, and I really don't blame her at all. I believe that sometimes getting things off your chest is the best way to get closure and move on. Maybe she could have toned it down a notch, but, she said they had just watched the breakup episode right before the ATFR taping, and honestly, if someone spoke to me like that, I'd probably react the same way Lets not forget, Greg wasn't exactly respectful of Katie when he left. He looked down at her and said he deserved better, and walked away without a goodbye, twice..

I’ve been basically living the summer in quarantine because I had to go visit her and then I would have to quarantine for 14 days when I got back to Canada, and then I’d have to go visit her again and I’d come back in quarantine. So, it was tough for sure, but we survived through FaceTime.

Katie Thurston: They knew we were together because I was leaving so much to go secretly see him,

I think the qualities that make for a good Bachelorette (i.e. decisive, opinionated) can also in some cases make the lead difficult to work with.

Blake seems like a great guy, the more you see him. Katie's the opposite for me. I don't think she's a bad person by any means, but feel there's a level of immaturity with her or lack of empathy in some situations. I feel like she mostly sees her side and makes quick, possibly rash decisions. To me, that's not being strong. She didn't have to treat Greg with kid gloves but could have made her points in a less strident way.

They are in Niagara Falls Canada on the Niagara Cruise boat which goes around the falls! It's quite the experience and Katie will get to see the American falls as well. 20 minutes from me!

They are probably in Hamilton by now unless they are going north to the cottage. Burlington is just before Hamilton. Either way, they are going north for each destination.
