Dedicated, driven, humble, brave, courageous...all words used to describe the 20-01 class of the Denver Fire Department yesterday and all words that I have used to describe the firefighter I fell in love with almost 20 years ago.

He started his career in our small mountain town and worked hard to protect our community, but was always searching for more challenges and greater personal growth. After trying his hand at building for a year with the incredible crew at @vailcustom , the purpose and joy he found as a firefighter was too strong to silence so when the opportunity to start over in the Denver Fire Academy presented itself, he followed that call and made us all proud once again. But not just because he was going back to one of the most honorable careers in our world or one of the most intense and physically demanding fire academies in the country. Because he would knowingly be fighting to prove his worth among an academy class where many were twice as young; because he would be living and commuting 2 hours away from us and his home; and because he was willing to take a chance on re-discovering his true purpose.

On top of that, he finished 2nd in his class during a pandemic and while struggling with a disease and viruses that we now know were attacking him from the inside out.

I love you for so many reasons, @ryansutter , and will continue to be in awe of the inspiring person you constantly prove yourself to be. Thank you for showing our kids the picture of resilience, perseverance and strength and congratulations on an incredible achievement! We love you and are honored to be a part of the Denver Fire family!

@Amethyst My nephew works for the Monument fire department south of Denver, he lives about an hour and a half drive from his job site and is on-site for 3 days at a time. We drove thru Vail the last time we were in Colorado (DH wanted to go see where Doc Holliday was buried in Glenwood Falls). That's quite a commute. Living the prairie side of the Rockies may not be to either of their liking, only time will tell.

Got some mild BIP spoilers for you today from the early days of filming. They are currently through three rose ceremonies. First rose ceremony the guys handed out roses, second was the women, third was back to the guys, etc. However, and I can’t emphasize this enough, this list of “couples” I’m going to give you below does NOT mean that these people are in love, set to engaged, will end up together, etc. What I’m giving you is who people gave early roses to, and honestly, I don’t know which one gave the other the rose. These are just names that I know gave each other roses in either rose ceremony #1 or #2 and have “coupled” up, but I use that term loosely since I do not know how serious these couples are. I’m sure I’ll hear more as we go along, but as of right now, these are the only pairings I’ve heard of. Yeah, that’s it. Maybe I should just use the word “pairing” because “couple” I know will automatically make people think all these people are couples and no one else has a chance at these people, and that’s just not the case. Today’s podcast goes over that as well as answers more of your “Reader Emails,” so check that out. Below, I will give you the names of the 5 “pairings” from the early rose ceremonies.

So as I said, these are just early pairings from the 1st and 2nd rose ceremonies that I’ve heard about. There are obviously other pairings that have given roses out that I just haven’t heard about. I don’t know the extent of how serious these relationships are, so report accordingly:

Also, there’s clearly more roses that have been given out in the first 2 rose ceremonies and there’s more than 10 people still there. What I’m giving you are just the only ones I’ve heard about up to this point. So while I’m sure you have questions, these are all the answers I have right now. So the “What about so-and-so,” or “who is he/she with,” or “who was original cast,” my answer is I don’t know. These are the only ones I know about thus far. I’m sure I will be getting more as the season goes on and/or once they’re done filming.

In series-premiere news was “Celebrity Dating Game”, hosted by Zoey Deschanel and Michael Bolton, at a modest 2.64 million viewers (#2) and a 0.4 rating/3 share in adults 18-49 (#1) at 10 p.m. While the network will tout a time period victory in the demo, keep in mind it dipped by 50 percent in rating from the 0.8 for lead-in “The Bachelorette.” “The Bachelorette” won the Monday 8-10 p.m. in total viewers with 3.16 million.

for me, it is Andrew F1, Blake F3, Greg F3, Justin F4

First I believe Katie was indeed heartbroken when Greg left but I think equally furious and resentful that he lead her on to think that he was ready. Plus she was wearing a long sleeves dark blue top.

I understand that this pic was from a later interview but IMO it looks more like a F2 rejection and her feelings looks way more tender like she broke the heart of someome she loves but is not in love with... Blake. Her outfit does not match the one with Greg. Yes, she could have a change but IMO prods love the in the moment interviews because they are very raw and emotional. Also it does not match the "I am done, I am done, I am done".

Blake is also in love and ready versus Greg who is maybe in love but not ready. to move or engagement, not sure. So it makes sense that Blake from initially F3 moves to F2. The struggle IMO was Katie had this passion connection with Greg versus Blake that was more physical and Andrew the long term love connection (AND right after the FS night understood the sex was {#}1{/#} with andrew).

at the end, andrew marked all the boxes. IMO

so for me Greg left at F3, Blake at F2. and Andrew is F1.

@SunnyRachel I loved everything about your post. That you are their #1 fan and share with us so generously! Yes - the wedding was one for the ages of BN! And that both Olivia and Sharlene were there shows you the care with which Caila selects her friends. Not for what they can do for her but for the quality of the person. We all should take that as an example of how to live.

Bachelor 25 - Matt James - Media SM - Discussion - Sleuthing Spoilers

I welcome a permanent removal of the Dark Lord. He symbolizes the show’s position on diversity through the years as well as its declining quality in later seasons. He has also become a caricature of himself.

As I see it, there are tree parts if the hosting job.

The formal part at rose ceremonies and addressing the contestants. Anyone who can say “I’m sorry you didn’t receive a rose” and sound like they actually mean it would do a better job than CH.
The friend and mentor. Someone called CH a father figure, but to me he looks more like a creepy uncle. A former lead who knows first hand what the lead is going through, like JoJo and Rachel on Tayshia’s season, would be so much better. It’s also important for credibility that this person is not an executive or even part of production.
The host/moderator of the live studio episodes. This takes a pro to pull off, and CH certainly is that, but his lack of real empathy still makes those events painful to watch.

My solution is two hosts. A bach alum that is good at #2 above (anyone can do #1) and will travel with the cast to the international locations, and for #3, one of ABC’s many popular news anchors or show hosts who can take four days off from their regular job each year.

Of course this would only solve the hosting problem. At this point I think they should replace the entire executive team.

Bachelorette Australia - Season 7 - Brooke Blurton - General Discussion - Sleuthing Spoilers

I agree it's really still too early for the lead to have been officially called. They haven't even announced who the Bachelor is and they don't announce the Bachelorette until April-ish(?). They may very well have Renee targeted as #1 but there's still a lot of time for her to either mess up their plans somehow (such as a boyfriend becoming public knowledge, just as a possible example) or for them to find someone else.

As for diversity, I think the lead can be anybody, really. The lack of diversity in casts - and the POC on those casts being sent home early - is probably the more enduring issue. However literally every POC I've spoken to IRL about reality shows says that family expectations and cultural norms probably have a lot to do with why you don't find many POC even auditioning or signing up in the first place.

My top 3 picks are Abigail, Katie, and Michelle. Abigail is my #1 at this point not only because she represents a new demographic as possible lead but also because she is forthcoming and realistic about life having challenges.
I want to see more of both Abigail and Michelle to see how they compare to what Katie presented, how they handle the pressure as they continue, and to learn more about them.
Katie is currently my #3. I like her but happen to like the other 2 more.
