ITA with your entire post and despite what may or may not have happened, I will never get tired of watching Bres either. They made my Mondays entertaining.Rolly wrote:Thanks grace8136 for the article suggestion. If anyone comes up with the more recent one that Sprite is referring too please post it. I'd be very interested to read it.
Wouldn't it be great to have real conversations with Des and the guys to find out what happened behind the scenes without the TPTB contract to worry about. I'm sure they could write a book...maybe they will when this is all over like the show gets cancelled.
Thanks for the post of the fan videos. I know a lot of people thought this season was awful but I loved it and couldn't wait for Monday's to come. Probably because Brooks was spoiled to be F1 there were lots of fan videos of Bres. and I still love watching them. We all see what we want to see don't we????? Amazes me how two people can watch the same thing and come away with two (or twenty) totally different interpretations.  :vomitj: :lala: :sourgrapes:
I loved/hated this show!!!

JBF- here's the weird photoshopping on him that you mentioned. Looks like they drew in a chin to make it look like it wasn't tucked behind her nose. Don't really see why they bothered.

@sprite... thanks for your reply to me. I guess because some major drama keeps happening on every 'ette season, it seems suspicious to me. Combined with them knowing when to insert Chris on 1 on 1 times or dates. But I understand all your points and could go either way on it. The emotion did seem real. Just seems like they are taking a risk counting on the something to go wrong/add drama without having the lead help that along. Would the ratings have been high enough without the Brooks/Des drama? As I recall they were barely good enough as it was, but picked up with the break-up previews... CMIIW. They had drama with James. Made Bryden into a little bit of drama when there was no real drama there and of course the guy with the gf. I wonder how TPTB would have created drama if Brooks had stayed and proposed? All they would have had left was heartbreak for Chris and Drew because they weren't leaving. I don't care for the drama, but it seems to directly impact ratings, so I'm guessing it is very important to them.

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
And thanks for the screen capture, grace8136. Oddly it doesn't look as obvious as Mike's blur in episode #7 when they "frankenbyted" some of his words as he watched Des and Chris walk to the yacht in Madeira. That one was too obvious.
I also agree that the Brooks video is the one of the BEST on youtube. Surprisingly this is a dying (or declining) art form in recent seasons... we don't see as many of them as in the past. We used to see them for two or three contestants with the lead, but Reality Steve spoiling F1 so early each season limits all of the creativity of showcasing multiple on screen romances (or showmances... LOL!)

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
Hopefully they will talk about it when their contract is up. How did Chris get his family on board? There was "just something off" with the last girlfriend and that was enough to give her a thumbs down. Now the new one is declaring her love for another guy days before the proposal. Seems like a tough sell for Chris. Yet they are visiting and seem fine. Oh.. to be a fly on the wall for that conversation! Where are the family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors that were posting pre-season and during? We need them to come back!Rolly wrote:Thanks grace8136 for the article suggestion. Keep in mind that Jason and Molly just recently started "talking" and it has been over fours years I believe! If Des and Chris make it down the aisle and ABC televises it, I'm sure there will be another contract to sign. I really don't think many will care four or five years from now. I doubt many care now except for us crazy fans on this board!! Of course I am curious, but all I really care about now is that they are very happy!! ;) I believe Jason and Molly said the same thing too. It is all that really matters.

Yes, I agree soccermom333 what matters the most is that they are all happy and don't have any regrets.

Rolly wrote:So explain that...if they actually make it down the aisle they have to sign another contract? Is that just for promotion or are they required to toe the story line according to TPTB? So if you get engaged there are the initial perks but what are the expectations I wonder? Fascinating process this is. I wonder if during the show any of them find it hard to sleep at night with what they have to do? Must be hard to continue to pretend there are feelings for someone if there aren't.

I did not mean to imply that Des and Chris were faking because I don't believe for a second they are. Maybe there are other leads from the past that did, (won't mention any names ha!) but not these two. The only contract they have to sign is the same one Ashley and JP signed along with Molly and Jason and now looks like Sean and Cat. I believe Trista and Ryan's contract was very, very different because tptb were so desperate to have a wedding, they were paid a lot of money to walk down the aisle. ;)
The actual contract--guessing here--probably consists of specifics like how much money is spent, what is filmed. Like, the vows, bachelorette party, dress shopping etc. etc.

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
If I remember correctly rumours were that Trista and Ryan got about one million for the wedding. I'm not sure if that included the cost of the wedding or if that was in addition to. Anyone else remember? But, talk about Jason and Molly was anywhere between $25,000 to $75,000 plus the producers covered the cost of the wedding. I think Sean and Cat may be able to negotiate a better price since he will be the first Bachelor after all these seasons, but, I still don't think it will be anywhere near what Trista and Ryan got.soccermom333 wrote:I did not mean to imply that Des and Chris were faking because I don't believe for a second they are. You could be the juiciest, most ripe peach, but there is still going to be someone who doesn't like peaches.

Trista and Ryan got a cool million in addition to them covering the wedding costs. A very sweet deal compared to the going rate for any marrying couples now.Sprite wrote:If I remember correctly rumours were that Trista and Ryan got about one million for the wedding.
