Exactly ... well the gal likes jocks and she's got a bunch of athletes sitting in the house. So I guess the guys just can't help themselves.

Didn't Chris Harrison say ... or did I read somewhere ... that the guys acted like they were in a frat house at times and they had to reign that in. Also that most of the guys got along really well so production had to create situations to drum up some drama??

CH's said she was shirty the night Eric left because they were all "broing out" so I would say they mostly got along pretty well. This is the quote "Andi was tired, she was a little bit upset with the guys because they had been bro-ing out a lot and not paying as much attention to her as they should and it was a perfect storm and a bad situation for Eric." Then that alone (the guys not being attentive enough and upsetting Andi) could explain the reason that Nick took the opportunity to go and comfort Andi when he did.  Can someone tell me exactly what Nick said to the guys, when he first stood up and then left the room to go find Andi?

He said "'scuse me guys".

I think when one is under attack by people one trusted, without forewarning, most of us slip on a "mask" to protect ourselves.

He was rattled in his ITM.  You could hear it in his voice and see it on his face.

"I'm going to cease my opportunities to comfort her like we all would want to" is what he said to the guys. Basically, this acknowledges that he heard and understood what some of the guys had said.  They continued anyway.

I thought he said he was going to "seize" his opportunities, and that makes more sense because he heard them and probably understood them, but doesn't appear to want to change his actions to suit them. Did anyone else hear "seize?"

Ok, so I just watched that whole scene, and one word comes to mind: dumb, dumb, dumb. Smart move on Nick's part (edited or not) to "seize" his opportunity to console poor Andi. 

Thanks NotaRose for transcript of Nick's words. He did exactly what should have been done and then attacked by other guys for doing it while they sat there. I don't think Nick was smug at all. And maybe, just like me, he was not a fan of Andrew, Tasos or Cody so didn't make an apologies for seizing the moment.

I also wouldn't put it past producers giving Nick the push to go to her (thus his initial awkwardness) and then other producers riling up the men that he went and whispering in Cody's ear about this being a marathon etc so they'd stop bromancing and refocus them on romancing Andi. Tasos, in particular had a nervous energy with Nick when he definitely had 1-on-1 time.

^^ So I was only able to catch the tail end of the guys convo last night and only caught the fact that it seems like the guys are upset with Nick, and yes it looked like Nick was acting smug.  So if I take it out of the whole context, the look on Nick's face was not really endearing - like he did something wrong and he got caught.  Once I got caught up with the conversation and realized that everyone was upset that he took the opportunity to console Andi, I called everyone BS! It is not Nick's fault that he took it upon himself to make Andi feel better - so what if he felt entitled he did not point a gun to anyone else's head so he can take action.  It is not his fault that everyone else didn't think to do what he did.  I will rewatch now and see if I feel the same.

Thanks, notarose. Also, I doubt that Nick knew, when he went to find Andi, that there was not going to be some time left for the remaining guys to have their 1-on-1 time with her before the RC. After all, he did escort her back into where they were all sitting....with "sitting" being the key word.

I probably would have reacted just like Nick did. Simply put, he made the move to go find Andi and to try and comfort her, and the other guys didn't. Would they have been so mad if that had been Cody or Josh or Chris that did that? Or was it just because it was Nick?

Meh. Nick could have reacted the same, for all we know. The show let him comfort Andi to create fake drama with the guys. Seems to work every time.

I think it wouldn't have matter who. We've seen this on almost every Bach and Bette show. They are just upset they didn't do it.

Agreed!  Josh's outburst did not seem to fit with the conversation.  I agree it may have been directed at Andrew acting concerned all of the sudden but getting phone numbers from waitresses.
Plus Josh already had 1on1 time with Andi in the deleted scene.
Someone else noticed, at the RC Nick V had his arm around Josh when andi was telling them about France
