Why is it that Kaitlyn always cover her mouth after saying something, is it a tick? I am watching the 5th episode and when talking about Nick there she is covering her mouth I wonder why? she seems to only do it when she is excited? Did she do it when in Chris season? anyone knows?

She explained that she worries that she has lipstick stain on her teeth. That's also why she is always rolling her tongue over them.

I never said anything about teeth.

if you watch the first episode you will see that she did the hand over mouth thing when CH told her she was the bette it's her "excitement" tell/body language

I have a feeling she covers her mouth because her "lips freeze" (I don't know how to describe, but it's like when your upper lip doesn't want to go down and it's stuck on your teeth - then with the lipstick issues it can be a problem) - and maybe she's a bit self-conscious in that moment, that it's not her prettiest face expression. (presuming)

I wonder if she wore braces in her pre-teens. The covering the mouth thing can sometimes be a hang-over from that phase. Was for me and some other friends anyway.

^^IMO she got injections in her lips (like Emily did), so she's extra pouty. Do those affect your usual sensations? (I wouldn't know having no personal experience), so maybe she's not confident that her face is showing how she feels???

Maybe she wants to hide what she thinks her face is showing.

During episode 5 she covered her mouth so many times I just wonder why you could be right Lucas

That is the look many, many people give when they are overjoyed. Think about many proposals. The cupped hands over the mouth are a classic. Put it together with her sparkling eyes... She looks shocked, in a good way.

IMO as a general rule, covering one's mouth with their hand when interacting with someone is an instinctive reaction to hiding something, but you have to view it in context with the situation and other body language signals to know what they might be trying to hide.

It may be a sign that they just told a big lie and they're trying to hide the mouth which vocalized the lie. It could be that they're trying to hide joy so that people may not have such an open window into their emotions to see just how much joy they're feeling. It could be that they just saw their reflection in a window and realized they have a piece of spinach caught between their front teeth and they don't want you to see it. It could be they have a zit on their chin and they're self conscious about it.
