Bachelor In Paradise - Season 2 - Episode Discussions - #2 *Sleuthing - Spoilers*

IMO any lead that has done more than 1 season would top any returnees even if they came back for multiple shows as a cast member only because as lead you get way more ST than a contestant.

I sort of agree with you on Juelia. She had 1 date with Joe and she acted like he just broke their engagement, and so did the rest of the crew. She wasn't into Mickey but brought him back to stay on the show longer. I don't find her that likable at all like they are trying to make her look.

Nothing against Juelia, but the whole "Joe Is Eeeeevil" schtick got old very fast. I mean... the boy apologized. He only said bad stuff on TV, not drown any puppies.

I agree with her anger about him telling the producer she was "stupid". That was uncalled for. However, that notorious scene was rather interesting for two reasons...
1 - he looked totally wasted on that couch and didn't seem to know what he was saying
2 - it looked suspiciously edited "out of sequence". Other things he said in that scene gave me the impression he hadn't joined the cast yet and hadn't met Juelia yet. No way of knowing for sure.

One thing EVERY contestant learns quickly is the same thing people learn when they are arrested. Anything you say On Camera can be used against you. Those editors are quite skilled with their lop & chop. It humors me how many "sit-downs" Joe had with Joshua wearing the same shirt in three consecutive episodes.

Another thing that tickled me. When he beat Samantha on an online poll by 90%, he was complimented on being a good politician. Donald Trump has said a lot that is far worse than Joe and he is creaming the rival Republican candidates.

No, Joe didn't drown any puppies, but he explained in detail how he wanted to pummel Jonathan until his brains oozed out his ears.  And Jonathan didn't do anything remotely close to deserving that kind of threat.  Then there was also the humiliation that Joe dished to Jonathan later.  He couldn't stop rubbing Jonathan's nose in the minor "offense" that Jonathan committed.  Joe is scary.  I hope he treats his horses better than he treats people.  I can be understanding about what he did to Juelia, but not about his fantasies of violence.

Carly is too dang clingy- I see how Kirk gets freaked out and bails.  

I almost logged in last night while watching Carly & Kirk's fishing outing to vent about this: I lost count at how many times she described either Kirk or the fishing "date" by using the word "freakin". It was driving me crazy!! For pity's sake, girl! You're cute and fun, but you need to buy a Thesaurus!

In fairness to Joe, he did apologize on camera when speaking to Chris and was quite clear about it.  I am sure Julia heard it all back stage but still wanted her pound of flesh.  Joe admitted even his family was upset with his behavior and Joe hasn't forgiven himself.  Rather than accept his apology they continued to brow beat him.  I think Joe paid his dues during that TV appearance and should break all ties with this franchise.  JMO.

ETA:  I do hope he has reached out to Jonathan to make amends.

My favorite thing about this show this season is the Intro video when the cast poses and the musical background "Paradise".

No, Joe shouldn't be trusted with any weapons around Jonathan. Really curious what was going on with that relationship. We didn't SEE anything on screen that Jonathan did that would prompt such talk.

Joe also looked kinda spooky on the After Paradise couch too. I wonder what the body language specialists would have to say there.

I, for one, just got a splitting headache over all of the "evil" Joe silly business. Now we have to go through Samantha taking over... for how many episodes?

I am so over TPBIP-AP dragging this Joe and Juelia situation on and on. It is the ultimate   . That said:  I definitely think Joe has some deep insecurity and anger issues to deal with.  He goes to a very dark place which is so over the top.  I thought that by far his treatment of Jonathon was the absolute worst.  So dark.  Joe is so lame clinging to a relationship with Samantha the same way Juelia did with him.  Get over it and move on.  You are embarrassing yourself. Insecurity is not a good look on anyone.
I think Juelia is to quick to play the victim role and use her daughter in the process.  I did not care for how she overshared last season about her husbands suicide.  Some things are just better kept private.   Joe definitely was dismissive and rude in his remarks and treatment toward Juelia but they went on one date so I don't think he ruined her life or potential to find a husband.  I think the inviting Mikey back and the whole "fantasy suite" on the 1st date was just icky.  If she was so concerned about her daughter, I do not think she would be on After Paradise. 
Samantha is just a total manipulative B@#$H.  Her "beauty" has allowed her to use and manipulate men with ease.  I think it is after her real self emerges that her tactics lose their grip.  Her trying to play the victim card is ridiculous.  Uh yeah sure.  I believe her edit shows her true colors.
BIP is set up as a competitive Dating Game Show.  Everyone uses someone to "Get the Rose" so that the can stay in the game to get more $$$ and find their "True Love."  One thing that comes through loud and clear from watching BIP is that TPTB etc, cast these shows chock a block full of people rife with issues.  They are always looking to capitalize on the drama and have very little interest in showing some normalcy.  This whole franchise is truly becoming Jerry Springerish Train Wreck TV.

....and I'm probably not completely correct on some of those others...because any lead and non F1-F2 also most likely appeared on a MTA or WTA special...and the lead and F1 & F2 appeared on the ATFR special so you would have to add those epsiodes to all of these.

And I personally would like to know who's gotten the most screen time TOTAL on main stream TV as a direct result of this franchise. If you add in things like DWTS, appearances on GMA, Celebrity Wife Swap, Marriage Boot Camp, etc....I wonder who's up there then.

And IMO, Nick & Shawn got darn near as much screen time on the last few episodes of Kaitlyn's season as she did I would bet.

If we look at just TV screen time launching from being on the Bachelor franchise both Jesse Palmer and Travis Stork used it a a starting point for television "careers."

I found last night's epi so boring and get tired of how they beat every bit of drama to death. Ashley I's crying also gets old. The only thing she said that I liked was when she was talking to Joe about both being miserable. The drawback to splitting the episodes is that they're making a 2 hour epi into 3 but giving us very little of the good stuff and more of the bad.

This Nick Trainer cracks me up. He had the funniest line in hot tub with Ashley ONion about not wanting her to say she was like a sister to him. I also like all the weird looks he keeps giving Sammi while she's playing her little game.
