Richie's my favourite contestant ever too!! Thank you for sharing that about Richie. I also love that there is so much that Richie does and gives back and yet he is just a humble guy who appreciates life and everyone around him and always is so positive too and caring and that makes me like him even more. He's incredible!! Gorgeous guy inside and out. hearthumbsup

Thanks for the welcome! Recently did some sleuthing and found something that could be a warning sign that Richie has turned down the Bachelor role...

^^^ it says here that he's training for the Rottnest Channel Swim. That explains the swimming photos on Instagram and gym training. The concerning part is when I looked up the starting date of the swim ....it's on 27th February next year. Isn't late Feb when filming starts for the Bachelor lead? hmmm

if he does that swim, he'd pretty much have to start filming in March because he's still in WA for the swim event throughout all of February

Yeah I had seen that. Filming is stated to start in the beginning of/mid March for the actual show itself. Eyeworks doesn't actual have a set start date other than "Filming will roughly commence in March of 2016 and may take up to 12 weeks." [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I would suspect though that promotional filming and so on (so not full-time filming) for the lead's promo shots etc will be around the end of Feb or beginning of March before they commence filming for TB. I think Sam Wood did his either end of Feb or beginning of March but if Richie has accepted already they may plan for starting in March and later than S3 if they are aware of plans/commitments. It seems they worked a lot with their leads and even Sam said he had time off during filming. Would Richie turn it down? It's always been a possibility and won't surprise me. However, it also won't surprise me if he is the lead. He's the only one that Channel Ten via Sam, The Project, and even the official magazines for the show (TV Week which does the Logies and OK Mag which was official mag for the show) has stated possible lead. Waleed himself asked Sasha who the next Bachelor would be and he said Richie. It's really his for the taking and they'd have to work hard to find someone if Richie doesn't want the gig. And lots of Aussies will be disappointed if so I'd bet!

Haven't posted here in a while... so a few quick updates:

1) Richie was in NI magazine with Dave, David, and Davey. Richie had the bigger photo and story and all three Davids said that the next Bachelor is going to be Richie. Richie said he thinks it should be Shane (which is hilarious since Shane was the guy who was on the skateboard and was in his casual clothes at the M&G limo exit and went home first episode! Haha). I think it is pretty much a done deal that he will be the Bach unless something unforeseen happens.

2) Seems like Richie has been spending more time with family and close friends. I was told by someone that knows his friends that Richie was actually very heartbroken when he was eliminated from the show and it took him quite a while to get over it and that his friends helped him through it. Ultimately though he just wanted what was best for Sam and for her to be happy and he really likes and respects Sasha so that helped him as well as watching the show. (I think this is the case for a lot of people who have real feelings... Heather said the exact same thing that it helped watching the show to understand what happened. That it was the first Bette Season ever in Australia probably made it more strange since Richie was a guinea pig of sorts).

3) Richie did a photoshoot awhile ago that was for a wedding/bride magazine. Interestingly, Sam Frost also did a wedding shoot prior to her being confirmed as the Bette.
