I remain unwavering in my support of Nick's risk-taking. The thing about risk takers is that they don't fear failure and although they recognize failure can be the outcome, a risk taker never needs guarantees before setting out to follow a dream or attempting to achieve a goal.  #livelikeEric  Risking for love as a repeat guy who was villianized, jumping into the shark tank, IMO is a phemonenum that will never be repeated by the franchise because there is only 1 Nick.
And who is he? It's been noted that he appears changed. In my mind, he is merely revealing more of his true self by his own choice. In San Antonio he chose to phrase his thoughts as "inspire me to be" which is really the point from which he radiates.  He isn't that guy who changes for a woman or tries to change a woman.  He is the person who seeks out those who make him want to shed the armour we all, to some degree, don in order to function in a diversely populated world of expectation and judgement but sometimes also a world of curiosity and adventure. To allow ourselves freedom, or to be inspired to be our truest self, we must feel safe in the presence of who we are with. And no, it's not about roses. It's quality of time that matters, how she makes him feel in those moments, and the maturity to give coupled with the patience it requires to allow her to feel in her own time.

The Nick we are seeing is goofier/having more fun on dates, initially shy to say falling in love but then not wanting to stop saying it, led to bed then leading without apology, uninhibited in his affection, verbally provocative, jealous at times, a gossip in the "privacy" of his relationship, willing to admit that he needs a woman he can lean on and vent to as much as he is prepared to be her support, willing to let a woman shine (take centre stage) in a pub convo with strangers while taking a back seat, and happy to small talk about bacon. He makes clear he sees a family with her - so different from the "ready to be engaged" talk we are accustom to hearing.  He reveals all of this knowing it is being filmed because he has been here before after all.

He knew he would be judged. He knew there was no guarantee of her seeing him as the best man for her. He risked anyway. He did this for her.  We are just watchers.
It's pretty epic to witness the emotional strength he possessed during filming and steel spine he has maintained post filming in supporting Kaitlyn's right to be intimate as a 30 year old woman and his right to defend his character when being openly attacked... be it by viewers or a contestant. Sometimes he taps into his intellectual prowess; others times his humor surfaces. Always, he owns who he is. This, in the fray of faceless critics.

... and there is so much more we will never know.

I kind of dig the guy too giggling Seriously notarose as someone myself who loves writing my thoughts out versus trying to speak them, your way with words is always so interesting, fun and refreshing to read! He took the risk to give it a try with a girl he had high interest in. It didn't pay off as far as staying together with the girl at the end but maybe the pay off happened in a different way that will eventually be revealed. It may be a "When one door closes, another one opens" type thing." I'm happy as long as he is happy and continues to give glimpses here and there of what he is up to (if he wishes).

Love this post, NR yes

One thing I love about risk takers like Nick is that they are true optimists.
They see the bright side of everything and are always hopeful.
To them, risk taking and failure is just part of their journey toward success.

Hahaha NR, weak swimmer??  I would say you could swim the English Channel without a warm up!  giggling

“Shed his armor” is a phrase that really resonates for me.  While other men are busy showing us who they ARE, Nick more comfortable showing us who he is NOT.  It’s a subtle but significant difference, a pull vs. push philosophy and it’s what draws the woman to Nick like flies.  He’s not as busy telling them who he is as much as learning who they are.  Subtle and seductive.

But in a way, and as you suggest, all that dims in comparison with the way he OWNS who he is and his choices without apology or embarrassment.  The fact that he has considered the consequences of his actions BEFORE he acts allows him to remain steadfast and strong in the face of critics.   He doesn’t gather supporters, just admirers; he’s his own man.  Very very impressive.

Hugs, Sue  bestbud!

happygolucky wrote::yes: :claphands yes Good Post I agree
I would like to add, that last year we were reading every tweet as a clue and as an indirect message to Bette10, this year it started the same with fans reading every single posting/tweet/pic/fave/like as a message/response to/for Kaitlyn and it didn't feel right ... his tweets were much more "direct" than last year, much more "honest" and sarcastic than a "play of words" of the previous season ... so I think it's time to say, that this year there has been no deceiving, no games, he's been straight forward with us, as much as he could be. He's given us clues that are undeniable, but our own wish for not losing hope was greater and that's on us. Still all good when it "ends good". Happy that is.

  Agree he has been straight shooting all along.
However, I don't think he ever gave a "clue" that would indicate he was or wasn't the final guy. He treaded masterfully in the land of ambiguity.  Even his latest IG posts were more about what an empowered woman is than a verification of his standing in the show. it seemed to be more a matter of using his window of opportunity to present ideas that would inspire people who ventured into his SM to reflect beyond the silliness of the show.
And his looking tanned and rested just matches up with the SalesForce gathering in Hawaii that most of his work buddies posted pics of so there is a high probability he was with them but was unable to post specifically about it because of the show.

I do think he has very much championed the importance of not living with regret which is also true to his nature I'm glad he did what he wanted and found his answer.. #livelikeEric

Nick Viall Bachelorette 11 - Fan Forum - ***SLEUTHING - SPOILERS*** - Thread #12

hi  Brill
Nick, Renee, and Claire have been mutually following each other for some time.  I think all started before Nick's season finished airing. I'm positive Renee was as it seemed like an unusual thing at the time so it stuck in my memory. Don't recall if that began on IG or Twitter. I do know that F2 Claire was at a karaoke bar on the night the ATFR was filmed with Brian, Chris, and Nick.  The club posted an IG vid of the guys singing on stage and her dancing nearby.  Renee leaves her season only to return to her former love and marry...2nd chance at its finest.  Des, invested in a man who wasn't in love with her (not reciprocal), turns a corner and there is Chris who ends up being her 2nd chance but definitely the best. Crazy love!!! cray cray cray

To your theory: I love brainstorming where the rule is there are no crazy ideas, just ideas. I mean someone invented sticky notes and people probably though that would never sell..

2nd chance theory does play right into 2nd chance at love for Kaitlyn who was the 2nd person her last season getting the Bette buzz (Britt was the "talk" at first) and was then announced as one of 2 Bettes.  I also think her latest big heartbreak was her former guy in Germany and since she was prepared to move for him to another country, her being on the U.S. version of the franchise could be seen as a repeat of relocating for love. At WTA she specifically told Chris she was confused as to why he didn't give her a sign and that they had a romantic, physical connection with reference to intimacy in the FS.  She is the 2nd to say this live - the first was Nick.

F2 Nick returns to Bette 11 for a 2nd time (ironically 11 was his basketball jersey number, also Josh's, on epi 4 , the epi when Eric Hill left). #livelikeEric. This 2nd time, I believe, there wil be no scepticism about "acting" as the actress was voted off. Nick is also the 2nd guy who makes it clear he will only accept roses from one of the 2 Bettes. Brady was the first. Nick has chosen to go back a 2nd time, with an entirely different person, to basically re-enter his history.  It's a bit like time travel  giggling  .it reminds me of  the TV show "12 Monkeys" and ironically Kaitlyn said she wished she was like a monkey because they go after what they want cantstopl

It's a :crazed world.

#tbt to our 3rd group date and easily my favorite for obvious reasons! I said something didn't get aired that I really wanted to share. Of course I loved scoring a majority of the points, winning the game, etc, but easily my favorite memory from that day was Eric. seeing him before the game so glued and attentive to what my pre-game strategy was even though he had no idea what to do. He asked questions about our defense and where to go on offense--anything to help him play better. He went out there with only what I gave him in the locker room and did exactly what was asked of him and did it sooo well. We won the game and I will never forget his face during the champagne shower we had in celebration. That look is why I love coaching and is what coaches hope to see in every player. It's what drives us. It's addicting. That's my last memory of Eric and I'm so glad it's a great one. Also, Josh whispering into my ear wasn't bad either haha. #LiveLikeEric #3 #teamrosebuds #coach #bromance @joshmurray11 @cody_sattler @marquel_martin @nick_viall28 @andrewdanapoole @gowitheric

He's such a great guy. If we were guaranteed they wouldn't trash him, I would love to see him as the next bachelor. Thanks alwaystulips for posting!
