@Sundy @mercieme okay thank you both. That's what I thought too. I have watched since the first season and also don't ever remember a lead defending himself like Matty has.

I understand that all leads and contestants are on this show for fame/opportunities and the possibility of love. I am only interested in why TPTB left that in the edit to have girls on the show putting it out there (even if "villains") that the lead is not there for the right reasons and the lead having to defend that.

I am going to let this play out but will tuck it away for later for me to look back on since Matty is the first lead that has been shown on screen to basically defend #rightreasons #notapuppet himself.

His bio states that he's a businessman, right? The other contestants went back to their jobs. In my opinion, there's nothing bad about it. Even if he doesn't endorse these products people still labels him an opportunist anyway. So, he might as well do it. Good for him in earning a living in a decent way.

Lots of contestants do this and I see nothing wrong with it for him or anybody else. Peter has lots of fans so it may be pretty good advertising. Strike when the iron is hot I say. JMO.

@Dessler he was eliminated last night, and sometime during the night he was already on IG. Verified by the change in numbers and IG now public, whereas before it was private.

Oh boy.

You know what's also kind of insane about all of this is that Jared took Ashley to the fantasy suite when he knew he didn't like her as much. This has somehow been overlooked and seen as understandable. Jared's remained "friends" with someone like Ashley who has been obsessed with him, but no-one seems all that mad at him. Ashley even said he led her on, but she doesn't even have an issue with it. The other cast members who've been complaining about Caila not liking Jared as much seem radio silent when it comes to the toxic dynamic between Ashley and Jared.

There's just so much hypocrisy with the way Jared's been treated, it's quite extraordinary.

It was also mentioned in another thread that Tanner had said something about Ashley and Jared both planning to return to BIP together and using the Janner wedding as promo for it. When I look at how everything played out, it seems like they did exactly that. I think the insanity and mess is all real... but I think Jared and Ashley have also been playing up the faux outrage about Caila not being there for the #rightreasons because it deflects from their own toxic reasons for going back. All JMO.
