JP though is given a lot of hurdles to overcome. JP doesn't seem to have it too easy.

Also, who knows how far they take this Bently thing. I wonder what they have in store for him down the road. He returns then leaves again. They have someone now more hated than Brad to maybe play up as the next bach. They know they would get ratings up the wazooo because people like watching this bad stuff and women are crazy enough to find this appealing in spite of what you read. Just my crazy thinking though.

On another note, does anyone know when Ashley's boyfriend died? Was it right before she went on the show with Brad? I wonder because it is what she said in one of her PI's about having enough time to fall in love again.

I am starting to think that Bentley IS the story this year, even moreseo than Ashley finding love. The way this is playing out in the media is that it looks doubtful that Ashley will have a happy ending because she is hopelessly in love with Bentley. I think she will be shown mooning over him in every episode until he returns in episode 6, and even after she gets her "closure", the story will become whether there is enough time to fall in love with somebody not named Bentley (and his name will be mentioned all the way through until the end). I think the producers believe that the surprise of Ashley actually getting engaged to somebody not named Bentley (whether it be JP or Ben or somebody else) will make better TV than actually showing us how she fell in love with SNNB.

I think J.P and Ben F were genuine in their feelings for Ashley. I have caught Ben F looking at Ashley and talking about her as though he has a crush on her. Too bad they are not showing more of their interactions with each other yet. J.P obviously really likes her and enjoys being around her. Maybe in the end Ashley figured it out and she is happy now with her decisions.

I hope so too. And from the screencaps with Dino in the rain, a big 'friend' vibe is what I think, like Chris L. and Ali. Yes, they will make out (so did Chris and Ali..it was pretty hot in the water scenes, rolling on the grass, etc.), but she said they were only friends in the end. I also think Dino is a fun guy & sweet guy, a big teddy bear (like Chris L) and that's why he makes it to F3..she felt safe with him and he made her happy, but she loved her F1.

I agree with you this edit this time around is not following any pattern for any sow to point and say ahhhh yes..

It is a strange edit so far. Is it being done on purpose to throw us off, or because events on the ground just changed, much moreso than in past seasons? It certainly seems like Ashley's original F4 (the guys she told the producers she was interested in the first night) changed dramatically over the first couple of weeks, with only JP holding her interest enough to stay in the game (besides Bentley dropping out, of course). William pretty much shot himself in the foot, and Mickey and Ben C, although they had pretty good first dates, must have fizzled out at some point, so the second round of guys took over the 3 empty F4 spots. Now the producers must have gotten some early footage or PIs with Ames, Constantine and Ben F. that they could have thrown in there in the first few episodes so at least they would be on the radar of the average viewer, but perhaps they thought it would muddy the waters too much to show so many different men at once when they really just wanted us to focus on the lightning rod that is Bentley. You have to admit he must be Fleiss' wet dream right now. (Sorry if I grossed anyone out.)

Yes I do think I remember Fleiss saying that Ashley was the best...Or his girl..or something like that..I think he does think this is the best season ever..JMO..However he did tweet some about the FRC..LIKE OMG...Having said that they do change edit after taping IF the "happy couple" changes..It just seem like why are they throwing Ashley under the bus? BUT to the non spoilers(friends/family)..Feel so sorry for her being played behind her back..And they are hoping that she'll find her man..which after JP last date with her think he is the man...

Yes, Bentley got a lot of air time and he will be coming back for more, and yes JP is spoiled to win it but is that clouding our vision of what is really happening? Is it really as simple as good vs evil this season?

From what I've seen the unspoiled audience, right now, is rooting for William and JP. So William is still on the unspoiled viewers radar. I've even heard and see a few people still rooting for Mickey at this point. I posted in another thread that seasons ago Jen Schefft was way under the radar in Andrew Firestone's season until just before HTD's so I do think for the unspoiled viewer any of these guys have plenty of time to up the ante and convince viewers that they could be F1.

First post but I have to say something. Love this place and all of you.

What if this season is not JP versus the others in the final four but JP versus Bentley? On the final day, does Ash try to figure out if she wants any of the final four including JP or does she go off show and try to make it work with Bentley? We don't know what Bentley is going to say to her...maybe he leads her on more and makes her think she has a chance with him off the show...

I can also imagine that after the Bentley fiasco, Ashley would be very concerned with only choosing guys who really seem to be 100% smitten with her, with no doubts or other agendas. I think the F4 all strike me as very sincere guys and not at all the player type. Perhaps Ryan was as well, but I have a feeling that the suspicions of the other guys that he is fake in some way is what ultimately does him in.

You're probably right and because of NOT taking the advice she was given about Bentley she's going to be extra careful and sure to heed any advice given about the remaining men. Although, too bad cuz Ryan seems like a stand up guy (so far)

Ok so far we have:
-William screwed his chances because of the roast
-Blake and Mickey screwed their chances with the Ryan drama
-Bentley doesn't need explanation..
-Dino could very well be due to religious differences
-Ryan drama could cause his early exit

I wonder what Ames will do..be too smart for her? rotfl

we've been concentrating on what the edit is telling us but I think we should be tieing that in with what Ashley is telling us in her blogs. First she mentioned the 2 sided coin, which implies that she knew that JP was determined to kiss her, and then she tells us about how they ordered Chinese food and that she fell asleep on him...literally it seems. She then tells about the fortune cookie about patience, which they had already talked about. For a guy that's getting a good edit and seems to be a frontrunner by many, she still felt the need to give us more insight. I think this is more signigicant than a date edit that can be interpretted to be either positive or negative. The big picture is pointing to a positive connection with JP, not one setting the stage for rejection at the FRC ... IMO
