A financial advisor in my neck of the woods does it all. They can't advise if they don't know their products and how they are performing. That in itself is a heck of a lot of work as you have to be on top of that daily. If you are also offering Insurance, that is another added area of expertise. Before you can advise you need to know everything about your client, financial situation, their personal goals, plans for the future, and on and on. That takes 2-3 appointments to divulge and to commence with a plan.

Once the planning is done, paperwork to comply with the Securities Commission has to be completed, most of which is done by the Advisor and not an administrator as it can only be completed by the people with the specific accreditations.  

Financial Advisers have to be employed under a brokerage.

He is advertising his Advocare product with Captstone on linkedin. That would never be allowed to happen in Canada. You are either an advisor or you're not. Your total dedication is required to your clients and their investments.

Financial Advisor can mean A LOT of things. It really depends on what type of advisor you are. Here is an overview of the different variations (this is Canadian based but I would assume very similar in the US):

For example if he is just a "Bank Financial Advisor" i.e. someone in the branch who helps you set up accounts, I can attest that these people are not at all specialists and should never give actual financial advice to anyone (outside of very basic info i.e. types of accounts available or how to set one up). They do not have the expertise or financial knowledge to guide someone else's finances.

Believe me I know, I work in Corporate Finance with my CA in Canada (or now CPA) and my husband is in management at one of the large international banks.

Personally, we did a lot of research and went with someone who had positive, successful track records in many areas of finance. Planning and investing were very important to us. You generally pay for these services and they are not cheap, so we wanted to make sure the person advising and handling this knew what he was doing to not only to protect what we had, but help it achieve maximum growth.

Seems as though Andi is occupying herself other than state hopping and building a relationship with Josh. To those who hoped that she start back working, it seems that she's tapping into her creative side:

Good for her.

I am glad for Andi and her t-shirt coming out with Southward (?), but to me this still doesn't make Andi a career woman. It may become full time, but right now it seems like a cool opportunity that if it sells could lead to more.

For now to me Andi is still a stay at home woman who has plenty of time. I still wonder if Andi the self admitted type A perfectionist who doesn't respond well to stress will be okay doing all the house work type stuff if she actually ever works full time again.

She hasn't had a full time job in over a year since she left to film JPG's season.

I am curios to know how many people would spend $50 on the Andi-designed T-shirt? I won't. Actually, I don't think I will spend $50 on ANY t-shirts. IMO, the stuff on Southward website is all overpriced.

I hesitate to spend $50 on most things. T-shirt would not be on the list.
