I had not heard that, but it would not surprise me. He took ballroom dance to remain NCAA eligible (the season VY and the Horns beat them in the championship). He was a huge NFL disappointment (so was VY) and one of the poster boys for the USC mess that was Pete Carroll's downfall in SC.

I see the good looks, but their never seemed to be an intellect to match.

Byron was season six. He was 40 and he and Jay were the first let the cast pick experience. It was supposed to appeal to the older crowd. He was chosen (I liked Jay better) but had no real connection building with his women, so Epi 3 or 4 they brought back one of Aaron's rejects from season 2 and Mary who was Blob's F3. He and Mary had serious chemistry. His proposal was partially in Spanish so her parents could understand. It was lovely. They were engaged for around five years, but eventually her alcholism and probably his wandering eye did them in. They lived together and had a very real relationship. Just like Charlie, the gremlin of addiction killed it. Honestly Mary and Byron and Charlie and Sarah were more real to me as couples than the two bachelors who married their women. JMO.
