Ben Higgins - Lauren Bushnell - Bachelor 20 - Discussion - #2

I don't think it's a political tweet either but I do share everyone's point of view that probably too soon given all the changes they are going through in life.

If Ben really had political aspirations, I can see they are capitalizing on their semi-popularity during an election year.

I do hope though that this was something they discussed way before and not just something that was recently figured out.

Well, he wouldn't be doing it to get rich. The session runs from January-May and representatives make $30K plus $45/day per diem. Seems like he'd also have to have a regular job, unless they up the Twitter endorsement activity.

The arrest alone is not my only reason for thinking Lauren still wants some young fun time. Since their AFTR, there have been a series of trips, far out of town concerts, partying in Vegas (with her family), and even a trip to LA for the movie premiere. I think people should have fun, they should do what they can while they can. Nothing wrong with that. But what they as a couple have shown is not let's settle into politics and focus is that. I know I am one of the few who thinks that Lauren is a bit bored in Denver. I think she loves Ben and wants to be there, but I just see a little wanderlust in her. To me, adding the strain of politics to that, right now, is a bit unfair.

I agree but mostly the bolded. Mostly every update I see of them is with her friend and god daughter or with his parents. Have they had time alone just the 2 of them? Are they living with Ben's parents or in his place? The politics isn't helping either true or not.

I will say all this political chatter is a downer. Can't we go back to our regularly scheduled wedding talk? Ben just had to go ruin that...

I meant more like, darn you Ben Higgins, messing up the wedding/fun speculation with your silly ambitions!!

Linds, Lauren moved to Denver in april with Ben and Ben's parents live in Indiana. I think Lauren visiting with her firend and God child are day visits. I also think Lauren and Ben have plenty of alone time.

The more I read the article the more I tend to think its not going to happen. The part that got me was the man quoted as saying this is supposed to be a secret and yet here he is talking to a newspaper? The whole thing is so out of left field for me. I'm thinking this article was for someone else's political agenda and not Ben's.

I'm of the opinion that Lauren and Ben have had well balanced friends, family, traveling, settled life and alone time post show. They've been to Indiana, Portland, little 500, Vegas and now Ben's parents visited them in Denver to help with the house. These were all family functions and for two people who are so family orientated I think it's been important to spend time and blend the families. No ones living with parents though, they are living in Ben's house in Denver alone and fixing it up together.

As far as friends it seems her Denver friend Megan and daughter ceyla are ways Lauren can connect Denver with her life prior to Ben. Seems they spend a good amount of time together but not a daily occurrence. Ben's introduced her to his world of Denver friends which she seems to really be taking to as she goes on hikes etc with them sans the boys.

As far as alone time, seems they've spent a lot of time working together on the house, dating well, snapping from the car alone... But for the most part it seems to me they like to keep their private time private so I can see why people feel they're never alone. Their posts are more of family and friends and out and about, rather than sharing pictures of them at home which they tend to keep for the most part private.

I think they've had a pretty healthy balance post show and that was possible because they committed to it and Ben didn't do things like Dancing. The political move could possibly upset that balance they've established in my opinion. It's a move I like for Ben, but a future more elder Ben, not at the moment if it means sacrificing being young and having fun with his fiancé and friends.

I like your whole post, but especially the last paragraph. Take the time while you have it to be young and enjoy your life. Taking the free travel opportunities and concerts while they are being given and enjoy. If politics are in his future it will still be there when he is a little older and they are settled into a more settled family life. These are two relatively young people and life and responsibility come up soon enough without rushing them. JMO.

Btw, I think she sneakily threw some shade at Ben. (Cassandra that is.) I think she called him a politician But it wasn't a compliment. Maybe she's still mad at him for possibly "messing" with her, if RS is to be believed. It's all in her recap at cassandrafergie.com Also, she's taking this show wayyyy too seriously in her recap (rant.) I think she's forgetting that this is a show first and foremost..

Edit: After reading it again, there's no doubt in my mind Cassandra was 100% throwing shade at Ben..

How did Ben mess with Cassandra according to RS? I missed that one.
