I've been following the wildfires in BC and Jillian has been posting a lot in her stories, sharing updates and how to support wildfire victims. She and Justin seem to be going strong. Their son, Leo, just celebrated his 7th birthday! I still don't recognize Jillian but that's OK. I don't look the same either.

@Norcalgal I've been following along with her too. So very sad. She is working hard to help where she can.

@GuardianAngel She is a good example of using her vast social network platform for good right now. I've often been critical of those who earn a living from sponsorships and oversharing but the residents of BC should be grateful to have someone with her following working on their behalf.

@Norcalgal IA that's one of the things I love about her. She works tirelessly for charities.

I actually had lost track of their martial status - it seems like such an after thought now!

My husband's aunt and her partner got married after 30 years of being together. He realized after all this time that he wanted the piece of paper! That was 16 years ago.

One of the benefits of aging is accepting people who do things differently. It's so enlightening to me how couples such as your aunt or same-sex couples really valua and treasure a piece of paper. And then there are practical and financial reasons to get hitched. I believe you have to be married for a minimum of 6 months before you could collect spousal benefits as a widow or widower. I actually want to shake a long term, unmarried couple, especially those with kids, and ask them what they are thinking?
