While an exact air date hasn't been confirmed, it's expected the show will launch at the end of August, after Bachelor in Paradise season three has finished its run.

"We were three-quarters of the way through series when we went into lockdown, and basically all the cast returned home,' Mr Tate told The Australian. ( Liar)

Bobette wrote:Well that does not bode well IMO.  Seems like they're trying to get it over and done with ASAP.

Also yes that's a TOTAL LIE that they were 3/4 of the way though!  They were only about 3 weeks into filming (and we have the posts to prove it).  What he means is "we didn't want to waste time bringing the MoTs back so told them to stay home" IMO.

At least if they're editing on the fly there will be less time for frankenbyting and storyline creation, so we might get a less manufactured season.  I presume he's settled on an F1 after all this time though so night 1 editing will still tell the story IMO.

leavers wrote:Precisely, @Bobette. They weren't 3/4 done at all, this is just how they're going to weasel their way out of bringing back all the women and cutting down the season dramatically. They'll probably only have like, one or maybe two zoom date episodes - nobody can stomach more than that, have we all not suffered enough zoom as it is? And yep, less time for editing is a GOOD thing.

Yep, and because I'm bored and petty I went back and found the original announcement by aforementioned liar liar pants on fire Ch 10 spokesperson Stephen Tate when production was shut down on March 26, who said:

“There’s some very real connections there,” Stephen told us. “We actually wrapped last night in the small hours of the morning and the girls are going to head home today and they’re all going to do the right thing and go into their two weeks of isolation, as will Locky.”

“We’ve got a good amount of the series in the can, we’re about a third of the way in which buys us a lot of time and we’re going to embrace what’s happening to all of us here in Australia. It will form part of the story,”

Locky was announced as Bach on March 4 and first SD was March 10 so they were literally only 22 days max into filming.  Pretty easy to go from "1/3" of the way though to "3/4" when you ditch most of the cast though I guess. laugh out loud

Those middle episodes between 1/3 and 3/4 do drag a bit though, we won’t lose anything by them cutting out the obvious MOT girls, we can always tell from the first couple of eps who is MOT, we just won’t have to put up with watching the MOT’s whining about not having had a single date while a front runner is getting her second one

Oh nice, you have receipts! Well doing the math, if he's actually serious and not just pulling numbers out of thin air, if 1/3 done really did become 3/4 done, that means a LOT of middling content cut out. Which is honestly, a positive thing for this doomed season.

I just read this. Seems cases are spiking again and they are shutting down again. Do you think this could have an effect on the filming starting up again?

Only if they were going to go to Melbourne for hometowns or the finale or something. If they stay within NSW they should be okay, as NSW is going okay for covid cases right now (it definitely is going to raise some interesting questions about hometowns this season though, depending on which state they're from; even if they had family/friends come to NSW they either can't because of closed borders or limited flights or they'll have to quarantine when they go home ... wonder if they'll skip hometowns? Or conveniently all the finalists will be New South Welshpeople?)

Why don't they just scrap the season? Locky seems a bit dodgy to me since he was supposed to go on some trip with Brooke and left the minute he became

@Sprite as @leavers says, Victoria is the only "problem area" in AU at the moment.  A lot of states had already implemented hard borders restricting travel and as of last night NSW has finally done the same (bit late IMO).

HTDs were always unlikely for non-NSW girls and they are now totally unfeasible IMO.  I could see Zoom family chats at best.  I wonder if just quietly TPTB are pleased that they haven't had to pay for travel etc this season.

@ule101 Yeah I am not expecting great things from this season and considering Locky wasted no time "socialising" with girls during the filming break I get the feeling he wasn't exactly blown away by anyone on the cast.

Wouldn't be surprised if he & F1 have an extra-short contract and split before Xmas. Hugesmile

The Bachelor resumed filming in Sydney's Oxford Falls last week, more than three months after on-site production was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But longtime viewers of the dating show fear that Channel 10's proposed premiere date for next month may be a little too ambitious.

Eagle-eyed fans on The Bachelor and Bachelorette Spoiler Forum have pointed out that a network executive has made conflicting statements about the progress of filming.

As spotted by forum user 'Bobette', Channel 10's head of entertainment, Stephen Tate, seemingly contradicted himself this week when talking about how far into production the eighth season of The Bachelor was when filming was suspended in March.

Mr Tate told The Australian on Monday: 'We were three-quarters of the way through [the] series when we went into lockdown, and basically all the cast returned home.'

But he'd told The Kyle and Jackie O Show on March 26, shortly after the production shutdown, that they were only 'a third of the way in'.

The Bachelor and F1 can just use the distance and lockdown (if still happening) the legit reason to split.

@Enough Yes I agree.

With WA having the strictest border restrictions of any state F1 won't be able to just "pop over" for conjugal visits so unless he picks a Perth Girl (unlikely according to Sportsbet) or relocates to NSW, that's going to be one heck of a relationship speedbump, especially since Locky doesn't seem like the type to exercise self control and keep it in his pants for very long IMO.

A handy excuse indeed.

@Bobette they are not only stealing ideas from you, but they are quoting you by name. Maybe you should apply to be their Bachelor correspondent. Bachelor Australia - Season 8 - Locky Gilbert - Media SM - *Sleuthing Spoilers* - Page 20 3806527698

Agreed, you should be getting paid @Bobette! Couldn't the journalists themselves have put that together if they were doing their job properly? laugh out loud Hugesmile

All I will say is, considering the number of media articles based on our sleuthing over the years, @GuardianAngel could probably register the forum as a charitable organisation at this point (Story Ideas for Journalists in Need)  laugh out loud

Happy to see the forum credited by the journalist though (many don't) and that Mr Tate's filthy LIES have been exposed! Bachelor Australia - Season 8 - Locky Gilbert - Media SM - *Sleuthing Spoilers* - Page 20 3806527698
