The Bachelorette: 1709 (8/2)

After an unexpected and heartbreaking departure before “hometowns,” Katie is nervous but excited to continue the journey with her three remaining men in New Mexico. With stakes at an all-time high and the pressure of meeting loved ones, she tries to balance falling in love with fairness – but keeping her emotions held close leads to a tense fallout with one of the guys. Can Katie patch things up enough to convince him (and herself) to stay, or is she ready to quit her journey for good? I can’t remember who is our nail polish sleuther but in rewatching the preview, I see the red nail polish in new caps. She’s definitely got red nails in the pic with th white sweater (1:26 mark) and I don’t think we’ve sleuthed that moment yet. And I think she may have red nail polish for her HTD with Greg when she’ll wearing a Slovak dress and black sweater.

Naked definitely gets a FD as she has a French manicure for HTD and red nails in the hot tub.

I think she lets Justin go before FDs start.

@luvstx So do you think Justin is F3 or F2? The episode description doesn't give much info at all.

I can't imagine they would end this episode with only one guy left. Who would tune in for the last episode?

I think Justin is F3, Greg leaves and doesn't come back and Blake is F1 or no one is.

I think they will do all they can to convince people that it's going to be a showdown between Blake and Greg (that he comes back and sweeps her off her feet) or they will tease that Katie could be rejected by both Blake and Greg. There will be a cliffhanger on August 2 for sure. Which is why we haven't seen any FRC shots.

I wonder if he felt Katie pulling back - and that is what set him off.

@CHO Interesting take. If he feels her pulling back she must do quite the about face. I am interested to see this bonkers ending. Will she eliminate anyone after HTDs? She already only has three. If she does (Justin), is the fact that it is only him and Blake that brings on Greg's insecurities or whatever causes their fight. I find myself so much more curious then in regular seasons so... good job Greg?

Could be. And iirc there's a preview of him saying it bothers him to see her kissing other guys, so that would fit. in that scenario Greg seeks reassurance from Katie that he is the one, and she won't/can't give it. If Greg knows the show--maybe he doesn't--he would know that often the Bachelorette DOES give her F1 a heads up. Maybe that's why there's a lot of emphasis in the previews about Katie not saying ILY to anyone (yet). So that if/when she does, it's a big deal.

I mentioned this when we had a clip of Greg saying he wasn't sure how she was feeling, paraphrasing and Katie seemed surprised by that. We have heard many times how the lead leaves little clues for their F1 to let them know they are special.

For him to go that far, and leave if true, tells me he realized Katie is not for him or he didn't want to get engaged or both.
