I grew up with Doug and co-founded dollarpermonth.org with him. I can say from first hand experience he is all about Austin. The catalyst for the charity was the world he was leaving for his child. If you met Austin you would get it, you have never met a more touching and genuine young man. After spending x-mas with them 2 weeks later I always get a thank you card, and every time we hang out and play Playstation or do some Lego time (Doug and I grew up on legos) I get a hug. I never really watched the show until Doug was on it but I'll tell you 88% of what I see is "Just Doug" I was really surprised actually that the editing gave such a good representation. Being on the show has to be stressful and I cannot even imagine the pressure of trying to build a relationship in front of millions of viewers.
