Ash, thanks for posting the vids. Loved them! The 3rd one was so touching.

I hope a year later, all those affected have found the strength to deal with their losses and challenges. The lady in the 3rd vid is truly an inspiration.

I got caught is a traffic stop by the local police today. I thought maybe a huge construction truck was blocking the roadway ahead and then I heard and saw a loud explosion where they were clearing a lot for construction. It really sounded like "kaboom" and the first person I thought of was Fleiss!
I have been watching TB too long! hehehe

Wow what happened?? Was it arson or did something catch on fire and it just spread? All I've seen from @BuzzFeed Twitter is pictures of the whole city on fire. So sad. Prayers to all. sad

From what I can gather, it was a forest fire they were fighting the last couple of days. But today, with 90 degree weather the winds picked up quickly and it just took off. Some can CMIIW.

So sad watching the news. Cars trying to get out with flames along side of the highway. So heartbreaking to hear people had no time for anything other than getting in their vehicles and leaving.

It's now heading towards downtown. Literally burning the city of 60,000.

This is so horrible. May the higher ups above watch over these people, all 80,000+ and give them strength to rebuild.
The first vid was taken by a resident leaving. They are comparing the destruction so far to the size of Calgary. There isn't an end in sight, the fires just keep ravaging on.
