Brooks seems very confused to me, I think it's all just happened too fast, he's caught in the bubble and thinking maybe he should just burst out.

I agree with others that due to his father's abandonment, he is overly cautious.

Hence the failure rate of these relationships. She told CH she was at the finish line. He is have a hard time getting in the airport line! Run vs jog.
