I haven't read the article, but based only on the headline I am assuming that now Tim doesn't think the US version is 'unrealistic' or what? Is he saying they are going to have kids first then marry?

No, article says that they admire how close each is to their respective families and Tim says Anna will make a good mum. They live 5 minutes away from each other but eventually expect to move in together and hopefully, eventually marry and THEN have children.
