Those that won at the auction of the bachelor or bachelorette don't have to take them on whatever prize they won. They can take their own b/f g/f wife etc. The other choice was to have breakfast with the one you "won". It sounded like to me, he was having or choose to have the breakfast with the winner because he had to get back to Atlanta.

I remember reading about the breakfast option, before the event took place, but now I don't see it on their site.
