My problem is that imo it was not his choice to apologise but TPTB. MF stated to media 24hrs ago that they were looking into it and would take the appropriate action. It was too well written to be a personal message. He may be remorstful but is it because of the exposure and loss of income?

I can now watch this show with a bit better of a conscience. I'm glad this happened sooner than later - the next 2 months would have been agonizing for all parties involved.

Thank you Garrett for accepting your flaws, and I hope his actions will speak louder than his words.

Also to note: many of the guys on the show are backing him up, Colton saying he's one of the most genuine people he's ever met.

Harrison also liked it. Ultimately I think his apology is real in the sense that he gave zero thought to his likes and probably doesn’t either now but is willing to apologize for the sake of the show/Becca. Not saying it’s good or an excuse, just how I read this situation. Becca clearly isn’t that attached to her own beliefs so whatevs. He probably takes great care of her so that’s all she needs imo.

IMO it's not that well written at all.  There are a lot of grammatical errors in his statement.

Sorry but what I read there was that he's sorry for what he liked on IG that was hurtful or offensive. I still don't understand why he was "double tapping" on offensive posts?? What in those did he find humorous? He says people say all these wonderful things about him but yet he never said he doesn't believe all those things he liked.

His words....."My Instagram "likes" were not a true reflection of me and my morals" His words, if that is true then why oh why would you even think of liking those posts in the first time? Seriously I might understand that one, or even two you might in a weak moment "like" but for me there were too many similar posts.

His IG words are hollow to me....looking to get himself out of a bad situation.

Thank goodness he didn’t go with “I’m sorry you were offended” apology many resort to.

I’m willing to give him a chance at personal growth. That will obviously take time and can’t happen overnight. I’m right around his age and I know my views changed more in the last few years than I ever thought they would.

I think this part was the most valuable to me, he admits he was wrong in his thinking:

"taking steps to grow, become more educated, and be a better version of myself. I am not perfect, and I will never be anywhere close, but now I will always be more informed and aware of what I am liking and supporting, not just on Instagram, but in life"

@eliza3 i also get a vague, ambiguous meaning from his posts.

I took the "My Instagram "likes" were not a true reflection of me and my morals" and "mindless tap" as if he implied all the likes were all coincedences.

In his intro on epi 1 he mentioned something along the lines of he likes to laugh about everything, because life is too short.  Maybe he just didn't put much thought on all his likes ..since he just likes to laugh about everything?....Makes sense to me

Good to know that someone took the time to write Garrett’s apology. Sincere or not, It’s done and so am I with Becca and her season.

I am glad the apology is out there. My thought is there is literally nothing more he can say. I applaud him for owning up to it. He didn’t back away or try to talk his way out of it.

If people don’t want to forgive him, they don’t have to. And, for those that are already past this, great. Everyone has a right to their own opinion.

My hope is the season can now move on to sleuthing and enjoying the show and move past this.

Important thing IMO is for him to seriously learn from this, using the word mindless double tapping also per Becca yesterday is not good enough IMO but it’s a start for him and I wish him well on this journey of hopefully true change from the inside out.

Hopefully for both their sakes, the media stories die down, time will tell.
