I followed it closely at the time too and I completely disagree. Becca's always been active on Twitter, long before she was ever on the show and after. Most of the "hints" people saw were lyrics of songs she mentioned (she's always sharing songs), the necklace she was wearing, which she was wearing before the show already but it looked like the one Chris gave her on her HTD, so people thought it could be that one (though there were pages of comparisons). She used the hashtag #statementnecklace, which people thought was about her necklace, even though Whitney was wearing an actual statement necklace in every episode. To each their own, but I think most of it was wishful thinking from her fans, because we saw how into her Chris was (and still is IMO). Whitney had "wannabe Iowan" on her Twitter profile, so I for one am grateful that Becca created some suspense, whether intentional or unintentional. I still have zero problem with that and don't feel "screwed" as a fan. I wish they all kept us guessing. But that's just my opinion.

Back to Bryan. I don't have a problem with his SM antics either as long as he doesn't make it too obvious. I'd rather he keep us guessing, when there's some actual doubt for once. I'm kind of sick of obvious seasons. There have been so many in a row now. JMO.

The way this played out wasn't actually very surprising. Chris and Whitney clicked from the start, but there is a show to produce. He did have feelings for Kaitlyn and Becca as have most of the leads and their F3. As Whitney said, Chris gave each lady and relationship his consideration. That's what a good lead should do.

I can just imagine the unrelenting bashing Chris would take if he didn't give Becca (the virgin) every opportunity - especially after HTD with her "shocking" declaration. The fact she was in a 4 year relationship without every being in love was a red flag. She will be ready some day, but by her own admission it isn't today. Hopefully Becca and her family have gotten all the SM posting out of their system. Doubtful, but one can hope.

So in hindsight I suppose the #statementnecklace was a jab at Whitney's fondness for wearing them on the show. And #unexpectedtwist was to promote the dual Bachelorettes. Sweet!

I'm not sure that they want a wholesome 'ette. I think it's which one will follow the rules.

She wins because a friend of Chris' sister took it upon herself to spoil the season and hashtagged it, so it must be true? Would someone close to the family come right out and hashtag that on SM. I don't know, maybe yes, maybe not.

. This isn't going to be a traditional FRC. I expect a cliffhanger to keep with the theme earlier in the season. They didn't throw the cliffhanger in there for no reason.

SM clues can be convincing and OTOH can mislead others. I take them for what they are. There was a hashtag for Whitney that said "she wins" or something to that effect posted by a friend of Chris' sister. Correct me if I'm wrong on the details.

Every time I think of "statement" necklace, I am reminded of the commercial about the Moen faucets. Stupid commercial. I'm with NV, not a big fan of the great big necklaces. Too many of them just don't work with the outfit, they work against the outfit.
