There was a Bette a long time ago who dated her final 1 and maybe 2 (I forget because I only watched part of it) post-show then chose no one.

I think Kaitlyn was packaged as the "fun girl". It's possible there was no engagement or no F1. The problem with that is if Britt is still with Brady or even engaged then it looks like dating 1 guy is the path to true love vs the typical dating multiple guys thing. It also makes BIP look like a better option since Marcus & Lacy got engaged in that environment and they clearly ignored all others and just dated exclusively almost all of the season. Will be interesting to see who Kaitlyn is and what her objective was.

yup that's exactly what i'm curious about! Kaitlyn seems like a stream of jokes right now esp during the media rounds and tbh I'd tire of that if I was the one dating her. we'll have to see how she approaches the guys and if she starts getting into it. It could be that she went in with the mindset - just find someone who she really enjoys being around and not get too serious about it for then but establish a foundation -- her "slow and steady" seems to fit that scenario... I see this season as more like a romantic comedy than a soap opera like previous seasons but even during CS' season the editors and production team were really starting to lighten up about the show...maybe K was another step in that direction... in any case K has started throwing around the marriage and babies schpeal saying she wants to live in rural parts, she wants babies very soon etc. but then again many before her were saying the same and not really meaning it so we'll have to see how things go...

Chris telling Kaitlyn at WTA that his decision to let her go was like throwing darts at a dartboard was very telling. Folks were upset that Chris would say such a hurtful thing to Kaitlyn, but didn't acknowledge this reflected just the same on Becca. He told CH that he was sure about one rose (Whitney), but undecided on the other. CH said Chris knew in Bali that Whitney was the one. Neil Lane said Chris knew he was choosing Whitney, picked the ring to suit her and indeed proposed to her. But...there is still a show to produce.

TPTB really don't care if there is a "happy couple" at the end of the show. TPTB want ratings and drama. They may want a proposal, but sending Whitney home as F2 and then a rejection by Becca as F1 would be an incredible coup for them. But we didn't get this as a shocking #unexpectedtwist. Darn the luck!

I would just point out that Chris could only have been picking out a ring for Whitney anyway because Becca made it clear that she would not accept one or say yes to a proposal. He also said the darts in dark applied to all three women. Chris also said last week that he didn't make his decision until just before the final rose ceremony his conference call with Whitney. As for TPTB, I also think that after crappy ending Juan gave them, they were going to make sure they got a proposal this year, IMO.

I am with Mura on this one. Chris had his chance. He let producers or his evil sisters or whatever help him pick Whitney. Becca is not or should never be the second chance girl. I am happy she is realizing that she may have loved him. It will help her see her next love more easily, but farmer douche didn't have enough cojones to fight for her, she deserves better. Sadly, I think his parents expected him to fight for Becca. I say let him enjoy his decision and then get to watch Becca have her happy with someone more deserving of her.

I agree too. He blew it. No second chance. Becca would be happier with someone like her BIL and living closer to her siblings imo. She's nothing like Chris's sisters. I can't believe some of the tweets Lori has sent and favorited. That's just embarrassing for Chris imo.

There was another tweet about the necklace, so I think this may be it. "Trust your heart though the seas catch fire,
live by love though the stars walk backward." So was the {#}unexpectedtwist{/#} that she never expected him not to trust his own heart?

The way this played out wasn't actually very surprising. Chris and Whitney clicked from the start, but there is a show to produce. He did have feelings for Kaitlyn and Becca as have most of the leads and their F3. As Whitney said, Chris gave each lady and relationship his consideration. That's what a good lead should do.

I can just imagine the unrelenting bashing Chris would take if he didn't give Becca (the virgin) every opportunity - especially after HTD with her "shocking" declaration. The fact she was in a 4 year relationship without every being in love was a red flag. She will be ready some day, but by her own admission it isn't today. Hopefully Becca and her family have gotten all the SM posting out of their system. Doubtful, but one can hope.

So in hindsight I suppose the #statementnecklace was a jab at Whitney's fondness for wearing them on the show. And #unexpectedtwist was to promote the dual Bachelorettes. Sweet!
