I guess just selfishly I want him far away from the show and have it just be him and Lauren.

If the relationship is gonna make or break based on whether he does DWTS than it's not a strong relationship to begin with IMO.

Yes, I wasn't going to bring that up but I do think that's partly why Catherine had such a hard time with the show. She also said in recent interviews that she wished she had found her own hobby or thing to do while she was in LA, so she hadn't just been waiting for Sean all the time. Lauren won't have that problem! IMO.

Was she like that on his season? I'm sure it's different since on the show you don't have to see your guy making out till it airs and by then we don't know if they are jealous or not but when they go on dtws they get an up close view of their guy dancing intimately and that make anyone jealous when they are in a new relationship. Maybe Lauren will get jealous and after all Ben put her through she doesn't deserve that.

Well if he doesn't do DWTS then he'll probably go back to his job in Denver and they'll have even less time to date than if he were in LA rehearsing for the show. In the first few weeks they only rehearse maybe 5 hours a day, so the whole "I've had no time for my fiancée" is mostly an excuse IMO. It's what couples who are on the rocks say to explain why things aren't peachy. Lauren has her own life in LA, so she wouldn't be giving up anything to support Ben during the show. I don't think DWTS will be their downfall, if he does decide to do it.

DWTS can be actually a great experience, they can make great new friends and dancing is fun. 99% of the 'affair' rumours are tabloid created. If Ben does take part, and is partnered with Emma, she's amazing! Plus Lauren has a full life in LA, she won't be lonely. Also, if Ben plans to move to LA, doing DWTS he'd get more used to spending time there.

DWTS is such a monumental time commitment that it has proven to take a toll on the new relationships. Once again the focus is on the celebrity factor of Ben and practice practice practice with their dance partner. It definitely is a good cash grab But it certainly delays having a real relationship in the real world.  Once again the significant other is relegated to sit on the sidelines and wait for me position.  It is a tough choice but is also an indicator of the persons priorities.

I thought it was humorous that Ben is peeved about the ILY comment blowback and mentioned that the "fans" must have some play book he did not know about re saying ILY.

I am glad that Ben is honoring his chosen one as he should in his interviews But I also want to see him take responsibility for the monumental emotional wreckage he inflicted on his F2 by his OTT and false reassurances.  The ILY's definitely gave a huge boost in confidence to the final 2 women.  I hope Ben will come to place of understanding that is why the ILY on this show is generally not uttered until the FRS.  The being in love with multiple people is not the problem...it is the saying ILY to them in this format that is. Jillion even mentioned this in her blog.

Only Lauren would know what she can or can not deal with successfully and/or being challenged.

I think the bigger strain DWTS presents isn't the partner and sexy dances, but the time apart when you're just starting out.

On the plus side, I think almost every female pro is either married or engaged so the fake romance tumors will be easily avoided and frankly even more unbelievable than they normally are.

Ha trust me just because they are married doesn't mean something can't happen. I mean Kym Johnson and her partner were married to someone else and now they are engaged to each other after being partnered.
