Samuel’s “Hi Mr. Chris” was the highlight of the night for me.

@umngirl my favorite part. But whatever intern or producer told CH his name was Sam needs to be fired.

Might have posted this before, but the proposal I liked best was Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado. I taped it (or whatever we did back then) and watched it over and over. Unfortunately we all know how that turned out. All JMHO.

Wow, West Coast viewer here and let me see how I can add my experience after reading all the comments. I was working and missed the first hour... what did I miss? Seems like they’re concentrating on drama (Tierra) and the best bits of the final few and then couple.
@Sprite : totally agree with you about THAT being THE GOAT and that’s why they’re starting with that season and NOT before (Trista) which is even earlier and many will not know anything about it. They may show excerpts later on to be fair the the evolution of the show.
Also Sean is such a gentleman and was genuine, sincere, respectful of the women and had one quality that is SO RARE : INTEGRITY. I was hearing someone talk about that recently, this word is misunderstood and used as a filler for other qualities. True integrity is when your mind, heart and actions aligned with your inner values. Well, first you have to have strong values that don’t change with circumstances or popular trends. Then you have to make choices that reflect those values and that takes character strength. For example, I like the bit they showed with Nate grilling Sean, and calling him a ‘ playboy’ , and Sean’s response was exactly that, ‘ I value my integrity too much and that’s not who I am”. That was a powerful and rare moment showing a man with true character.
The only other participant I can think of that seems to have that level of integrity and character is Tyler. But that’s another story...
I thought Lindsay was a nice, sincere girl and she was indeed gracious in her reaction as she was visibly heartbroken. But very honestly, I’m sorry to say she was forgettable, because I didn’t really remember her much. Catherine was coming off the screen with much more charisma and spunk. The love they shared was already palpable.
Thanks @lipsis for reminding us about the fact that Sean wanted to let go of Lindsay before the FRC and of course production wouldn’t have it...are we surprised? Another factoid that’s a testament to Sean’s big heart and true compassion.
Now in terms of the format, here are my thoughts, I’ve been saying it before,
and it’s getting even clearer now, despite the ratings and the ongoing BN support, I think the whole franchise is facing a major crisis and this is a desperate effort to get everyone back into LaLa Land of the Bachelor mythology, that this show is about LOVE! Notice how and what they showed, the scenes they stressed and the vocabulary used by Count CH, using every opportunity and character they highlighted to show the successes of everyone featured. ‘ it all worked out in the end’ so they can take credit for the success of every relationships that they ‘ sponsored’. No matter the emotional traumas that so many have had to get through BECAUSE of being on the show...those will NOT be having a puny little check in time with grandpa CH.
that’s why, IMO, they chose to insert the Peter and Kelly snippet, again to reinforce that - knowing it was a train wreck of a season- even though most active BN and SM viewer knows that full well, IT ALL ENDED WELL after all, even with Barbs giving her blessing. ( insert vomit emoji here please, someone! .) its all part of the image they are polishing to reinforce that idea of the success of the show, despite all the actual numbers that are proving it otherwise.
My guess is they will pretty much show their favorite, the ones that still are in good terms with production and a have a success attached to their characters.
They will show only dramas and characters that serve as a contrast to highlight their rosy tinted glasses scripts.
I’m very curious about Nick’s ‘ secret’...well, I wonder if or how Kaitlyn knows what’s going on or if she’s being blindsided...
All in all, I was happy to see Sean and the parts of his story that remain some of the most memorable and moving moments this show has had. But I do NOT give Bach TPTB credit for them, as it’s BECAUSE of Sean AND Catherine, who are both great humans, that those beautiful scenes made it in our screens, THEY are the owners and creators of their story and all TPTB had to do is capture it for us.
They were lucky, because as the years went by, not many can say they had the same effect and charisma after their season ended. ( despite so many trying really hard to be in our face one way or another, to try to ‘ prove to use they’re so great) . I guess I favor the ones that ‘disappear’ and live their ‘ real lives’ with their values intact and stay focused on living according to their values not the amount of influence on BN fans they have.
I’m curious to see how next week will be edited and presented...

I have seen concerns online for the villains, since this might generate new hate and new trauma for them.
TPTB would be wise to focus on the love stories though, since no contestants are silenced by NDAs this time. I don’t think they want Courtney, Michelle, Olivia or JPG to be interviewed in mainstream media and talk about editing and franken biting.

My biggest complaint was that they didn't need to give so much time to Tierra like they did during the season. I'm sure they had tons of other stuff that we didn't see the first time that would have been really interesting for viewers. That they did it for a season that ended with a happy outcome doesn't bode well for some of the other ones.
There were a lot of BN alumni sharing the Bachelor Diversity Campaign info and petition on Twitter last night. I signed. I'm still mad that they picked bland Peter over Mike and hope for better next time. USA Today article

Re: The Bachelor - The Greatest Seasons – Ever - Discussion
I so enjoyed the trip down memory lane last night. Fun fact from my son's gf who is staying with us during the pandemic (She lives in DC): Sean's season was the first one she watched and watched the first episode or two when she was home for the holidays. When she returned to DC, she was in a bar and ran into Lesley Murphy, who was flirting up a storm with a random guy! She knew right away that Lesley wasn't engaged to Sean.
So many nice women in Sean's season - Lindsey, Desiree, Lesley, Catherine, Sarah. Sean's integrity really shown through last night. I think that quality is what they hoped to find in Ben H when he was cast.

Sprite wrote:Poor Lindsay. That I love you though...He looks like he wants to puke. That was probably the most sincere goodbye to the F2...other than Jason.
I wanted to puke! I had forgotten that Sean told Lindsay he loved her twice while he was dumping her! No wonder she was so confused and upset, IMO. Maybe Ben H. was just copying the GOAT when he told Jojo and Lauren that he loved them. IMO.

Re: The Bachelor - The Greatest Seasons – Ever - Discussion
Well last night was super fun to re-watch and why I am glad SeanCat are my favorite Bachelor couple. I enjoyed seeing the kids and oh my #4 better be in like a year or two cause I don't know if I'm ready for more excitement from them so soon!
Funny how next week is my 2nd favorite but instead of happy tears and smiles it will be much different!! I enjoyed seeing the updates on Desiree, Ashlee, e.t.c. but I could have done without Pete and his mother!! Literately had to mute the TV. I do not know or care what Nick's secret is but I'm sure it has something to do with Kaitlyn/Shawn. Though he and Kaitlyn seem on better terms now so idk.

Re: The Bachelor - The Greatest Seasons – Ever - Discussion
I watched the first two hours and then lightly in the third hour.
My first season was Desiree's, so the only way that I knew Sean was as the "born again virgin," which I found off-putting. IMO if you want to be celibate, fine, but calling yourself a BAV is too precious for my taste. However I was charmed by him last night. I was especially impressed with how he handled sneaky little Tierra, giving her a very classy speech during her sendoff.
Catherine was spunkier than I expected. I liked their chemistry together and that you could quite easily see their love growing.
The thing I liked the best (and what I would like to see the show get back to,) was that there were so many thoroughly nice girls. It was also great to see how Sarah Herron got her start on the series, because I only knew her from Paradise.
