They seem to be advertising the new bachelorette WAY early. I think there might be a reason for it. ;) IMHO

I do think they're trying to cast often to find more people for potential drama/storyline/etc.

IA! He seems like a great catch. Based on his twitter feed, he seems like he has a sense of humour, cares for others, and is passionate about life. I could definitely see him as a bachelor on the Bachelorette. I think he and Becca would suit. Both seem laid back and have that all-american appeal.
